Yeah. Totally agree with this.

Accidentally ran through all of season 3 today. Another great installment. Love this show so much.

Pumped for the McLaren duo this year.

Ive only watched episode 1, but its so easy to see during the racing season that mercedes has a clear #1 with Hamilton.

Honestly, I was super surprised that bottas signed a 1 yeat contract with them instead of jumping ship. I guess the mercedes #2 is better than anything else though. He really needs to leave and go drive for someone else.

Hamilton is a douchebag.

I was watching old clips of Hamilton last night. He wasn’t annoying early on. He was just a guy who loved to drive fast, and even just talking about it made him happy. He was very likable.

I don’t know why he changed.

Does everyone forget George made Bottas look foolish in his one chance this year?

I thought Bottas would be a great driver when he moved from Williams to Merc, but the guy just doesn't seem to be in that elite class of F1 drivers.

I love that DTS brings you behind the scenes and I know that it's for TV, but the majority of the drivers/team personnel seem extremely likable.

Bottas could be given number one status and Hamilton would still wipe the floor with him.

I would have zero issue being paid $15,000,000 a year to play second fiddle behind the greatest F1 driver of all time. I’d milk that gig until the wheels fell off, which I suspect is exactly what Bottas will do

come on? The guy has the most wins and soon to be most driver’s championships. What other metric could you possibly use in an individual sport?

I love Toto’s cut-throat, no nonsense approach. He’s there to win and not get involved in any of the other BS.

Just finished the gasly episode. I know the show wants to create storylines, but what is everyone’s obsession with gasly? Albon was bad last year, but he was still better than gasly was in 2019. And it was completely gasly that year, because albon came over to the exact same car in the middle of the year and had drastically better results.

Also, horners comments about no one at Red Bull talking about bringing gasly back kinda made it seem like they may have had other issues with gasly besides just on track results.

They weren't happy about his attitude when they brought him in... particularly when they wanted him to basically be quiet and learn their ways instead of him telling them how he wanted them to be... nothing big but i think it was more death by 1000 cuts combined with on track performance

That's one thing Albon did well... shut up and learn... be a sponge and let RBR groom you into the driver they want you to be, not bring in your own preferences to their team

It's a team sport and he happens to be on one of the best teams ever. Not saying he isn't a great driver but even Rosberg won a championship on that team.

If he hadn't won a title before, been one turn away from winning another, and gone head to head with the likes of Alonso and held his own (finished ahead) I would say it was only Merc.

Saying unequivocally that he is the best is hard only because you have to compare across decades of the sport changing.

Saying the only reason for his success is Merc is just being disingenuous.

It’s impossible to compare drivers fairly because we have no way of knowing how they would have done in cars other than the ones they have driven. But when it comes to F1, to be great, you have to have a fast car. Lewis has a fast car, and he is the goat.

Can you imagine Verstappen in that role, instead of Bottas? I can't imagine him accepting it.

Season 3 has been phenomenal. The episode with Grosjean and Checo really got me. 2 minutes 43 seconds in that inferno and he walked away. Incredible.

2 thoughts after finishing:

- I know many of you pay more attention to the off-track happenings than I do, and for that reason I never really got the hate that Hamilton receives. Because of all that, the woe is me schtick at the end of the last episode wasnt all that surprising. However, during the grosjean crash episode his comment was literally about how the crash made him feel vulnerable. frick him.

- Does anyone else foresee a lot of personality conflicts with the proactive driver/team changes this? Not necessarily sainz to ferrari. But specifically vettel to aston martin and Ricciardo to mclaren? No way vettel is going to play #2(or not #1) to Lance stroll, but Lawrence stroll is obviously going to want that. And a few times in DTS it was mentioned how Zach brown treats Norris like a son and Norris is viewed as the future of mclaren. Ricciardo’s ego is way too big to let that happen.

I dont remember saying he wouldnt.

Just that mercedes treats bottas like crap and he should have taken another ride if it was available.

Hamilton is still a douchebag.

Also, maybe it’s a sensitive topic but I was surprised they didn’t really talk at all about the williams changeover. I think it was mentioned one time in one background audio clip going into one of the race weekends. Williams team actually didn’t have a presence at all this season really, outside of Clare saying that she didn’t think they should race in Australia and joining in the racing point protest.

Would’ve also been cool to see them give more attention to Russell’s weekend with Mercedes. To go from never scoring a point and routinely finishing in the bottom 5, to completely dominating an entire weekend, to having likely victory taken away by a weird pit stop error.
