No need to have ridiculous celebrations after the 4th-5th goal though.

Morgan scored 5 goals which tied the record for most in a game and Carli Lloyd scored in her 5th straight WC game which also tied a record.

Why should they be subdued when they were setting records?

It's the fricking World Cup for crying out loud. This ani't some exhibition friendly. Buckle up buttercup. No mercy. No surrender.

I'd like to think that you're more astute of a fan than this. Megan Rapinoe scored the 9th goal in the 79th minute. The. 79th. fricking. Minute. What in the ever loving frick is she even doing on the field at that point in an 8-0 game? And they scored two goals in stoppage time. You can certainly give your reserves a helluva lot more minutes. 20 field players and three keepers on the roster.

Learn the rules before getting so worked up about something.

Give it a rest, Morgan, Lloyd and rationed have all scored in previous world cups so not as big a deal as you make it out to be especially since four of their goals were scored after it was 8-0. Don’t have a problem with the scoring but with the. Celebration. And they say since it’s group stage goals count, if that were the case cut down on the celebration and let’s go! But they just kept running around celebrating

After goal celebrations add to stoppage time so maybe we just figured out why they kept celebrating?

are they? I bet most of the Thai team have real jobs and play soccer on the side. I thought Americans would have more class than to shove it down the throat of poor girls that play this sport for hobby but I guess not.

Sad

Again, Morgan and Lloyd were busy setting World Cup records. Why should they not be celebrating that?

It's probably Lloyd's last WC so she's never going to get the same rush from scoring in in the end all be all of tourneys after this is over.

It's also no sure thing that Morgan will be able to go again in 4 years. She certainly will no longer be in her prime by then even if she can play.

Not when it’s 13-0

Well you’re wrong because almost all of them are signed to professional clubs. I think there are two exceptions on the roster.

And depending on how you define full time professional, many or all of the US team may not qualify either. This is women’s soccer we are talking about.

I don't follow soccer even though I played it growing up. How good is Thailand supposed to be? Are they the equivalent of 1-AA/FPS in college football?

Good enough to qualify for the WC through the Asian FIFA confederation.

All teams in the WC would be considered power conference teams by fact that they made it. Of course you still have your Vandys and Bamas of the world.

Like I said, I’ve never scored a goal in a WC match after having dreamed of doing it my whole life so I’ll withhold judgement for now.

How is that wrong? Men’s players command more money because there is actually a market for men’s soccer.

They get paid what they do because that’s how much women’s soccer is worth. There is nothing ‘wrong’ about that.

Why are you so concerned about the feelings of professional athletes who got their arse beat?

Could the US women have taken it down a notch? Probably. But it’s the World Cup, expecting them not to celebrate is ridiculous.

This isn’t an elementary school rec league, if you don’t want to get beat 13-0, be better.
