Still, the word inside ESPN is that nobody's happy about "The Six," including the two stars. Some sources speculate that Hill may leave on her own to talk politics on a news channel such as MSNBC or CNN

I'm shocked, I tell ya.

So cool for them to wait until right before Christmas to do this.

Supposedly, they are doing it at this time because the casualties will get a better severance package in relation to company stock options... or something like that.

How big of a self important count do you have to think that your opinion on these matters is so important to get out there you just can’t remain silent?

And they wonder why they are hemorrhaging money? They should name that show "The most unwatchable piece of shite sports show ever."

At least this gives someone like Gruden justification for leaving a cush analyst job for the rigors of head coaching

I neither want nor need to be lectured on 'vital national issues', and I sure as frick don't need to be lectured on 'vital national issues' by a bunch of ignorant 'sports journalists' or whatever these fools are.

So long as that mule, jamele hill, is included, all is well. And that other racist prick, stephen smith, can kick rocks as well. Both can go get “oppresses”.

ESPN will be forced to keep paying until those contracts are up and try to negotiate a cheaper price for the TV rights in the contract renewal negotiations and just hope that they don't get outbid by someone else. But as much as ESPN is overpaying right now for TV rights, they really can't afford to lose those rights because of another network/provider outbidding them. Without those TV rights, ESPN would lose any justification they have for the subscriber fees they get from cable/satellite companies and the cable companies may decide to put ESPN into an optional sports package as opposed to being included in almost every basic package.

It's pretty comical. I'm hoping she goes that route so she'll be easier to avoid. When her CNBC show flames out, she'll be running back to ESPN.

Thus all the smoke about Gruden to Tennessee.

Bingo!

Someone will carry Monday Night Football and give Gruden a job if he wants it. Or just hire him to do other games. I don't think this has anything to do with it.

ESPN isn’t isnt losing money on the SECNet and others. It’s losing money on the NFL & NBA contracts it spent $3.3 billion dollars on that they can’t get people to watch. They get one game a week and pay a billion and a half dollars a year on it. They won’t be losing much in the grand scheme.

I thought they were losing money on SECnet as well. The big issue is Monday night football. I don’t see how someone pays more than ESPN is paying now for MNF. The NFL and ESPN need each other big time for MNF.
