Philly is playing well (9-1), but from stats alone he doesn't deserve it but he's getting the recognition because the team as a whole has played well.

I'm as big of a Brady-hater as it comes, but I can be rational and say that he definitely deserves MVP over Wentz if things stay constant.

As it is:
68.7 completion% vs 59.7 completion% (+9.0%) (4th vs 30th)
3146 Yards vs 2430 yards (+716 yards) (1st vs 11th)
8.28 YPA vs 7.64 YPA (+0.64 YPA) (2nd vs 9th)
22 TDs vs 25 TDs (-3 TDs) (2nd vs 1st)
2 INTs vs 5 INTs (-3 INTs) (40th vs T-21st)
110.9 Rating vs 103.4 Rating (+7.5 Rating) (1st vs 4th)

Brady is substantially better in every aspect outside of TDs where he's pretty much right there.

Team numbers: Offensively
#2 Offensive YPG vs #3 offensive YPG (+32.9 YPG)
#1 Passing YPG vs #15 Passing YPG (+71.5 YPG)
#16 Rushing YPG vs #2 Rushing YPG (-38.6 YPG)
#4 PPG vs #1 PPG (-3.0 PPG)

Defensively:
#32 Defensive YPG vs #7 Defensive YPG (+95.1 YPG)
#12 Defensive PPG vs #7 Defensive PPG (+1.5 PPG)

Team play: NE isn't balanced at all, philly is.

As of now, it has to be Brady.

They should split it in thirds with three Cowboys players getting it. Sean Lee, Tyron Smith and Ezekiel Elliot.

Holy frick they suck without those guys.

If the Seahawks make the playoffs with no secondary or running backs, Russell Wilson is the MVP. Hell, if they're .500, he is still MVP.

Agreed...... it should not be all about stats....

I mean, if you want to be technical, Aaron Rodgers is the MVP this year by definition of "value to his team." But that isn't happening, so I'll go with the one who is proving himself to be the biggest component of his team's success.

It’s always been ‘value to the league’ over ‘value to his team’ and rightfully so.

I'm just saying, if the Seahawks make the playoffs, come on now.

He's playing behind one of the 5 worst O-lines in the NFL.
They have used maybe literally a dozen RBs, and they're down to a practice squad guy and a washed-up Eddie Lacy
They have a guy who failed his physical and a guy who was cut last week starting at CB
He's accounting for like 80 percent of their offense and will lead his team in rushing

That's value by any definition.

I predict they'll give it to a QB.

Not sure why I get that sneaking suspicion

bullshite.... Seattle is a three win team without Wilson... NE and Philly would be a lot closer to the playoffs than Seattle without Brady and Wentz.....

while I agree on all those points, media loves the wins too much. If they had somehow just won that atlanta game, he'd be in a good spot to win because they'd have the tie breaker. Now they're just floundering in limbo tied with Detroit and ATL without that tiebreaker.

That and the media are trying so desperate to find the next crop of "elite QBs". Wilson had his shining moments so its nothing new to push.

Few years ago it was Luck
Then it was Cam
Last year was Carr
This year is Wentz

Could you make the same argument if Seattle weren't missing some key players on their defense.

Who gives a shite? Just making the playoffs shouldn’t be enough to win MVP in any sport imo. MVP should be about excellence. Leading your team to the top of the league. Not being a middling playoff squad.

You play to win the game.

If Brees can’t get an MVP for carrying the Saints in years past to the playoffs then neither does Wilson imo.

I think you can make a great case for Ingram as a top 10 MVP candidate

Can't argue with any of that, but Patriots are winning and Brady has the best stats among QBs.

He's having a great year, but he doesn't have the stats to warrant MVP consideration.

That’s absolutely false

He’s only 80 yards behind the league leading rusher (Le’Veon Bell) in way less carries. He is also the lead back of the best RB tandem in the league. They are on a historic pace. He absolutely has the stats to warrant consideration.

People harp on the "value" part of the award too much. That's never what it's been about and it's never what it's going to be about

It's simply the best performing QB award on the best team.

I agree Wilson should get some love for MVP, but it's not happening
