Great read

quote:
"This is an epic matchup. Both quarterbacks are as good as any that has ever played the game and totally different in styles. I don't know who I'd give the nod to or the advantage to." -- Brett Favre discussing Sunday night's game between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers on his SiriusXM show.
It's as good an individual matchup as there is in the NFL. Is Brady-Rodgers the NFL equivalent of Jordan-LeBron? There are some similarities. The championships belong to Brady (5) and Jordan (6), while James, who has three titles, and Rodgers, with one ring, are considered the more athletically gifted.
Jordan and Brady are recognized by many as the greatest of all time in their respective sports, and the titles have a ton to do with it. But James fans can make a statistical argument -- one enhanced with each passing season -- that their guy either is the best or will be by the time he's done. The Rodgers crowd would have a tougher time getting around the ring criteria.
NFL Nation talked to players around the league who have played with or against the two quarterbacks to discuss what sets them apart and defines their greatness. ESPN Stats & Information also provided some context to the discussion as Brady and Rodgers prepare to start against each other for just the second time in their storied careers. Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to a 26-21 victory over the New England Patriots in 2014.

Rodgers is better and it isn't even close. The packers are a shitshow.

When it comes to “all time,” Rodgers doesn’t belong in the same sentence as Brady.

The lazy and tired "championships" measure of greatness...sigh
As i think about their two different styles, the only differences I see are that Rodgers can also beat you with his legs and can make throws Brady can't (often those throws are made on the run).

1. Nice spreadsheet. A guy with a huge dick made it I heard
2. It seems as if you don’t think scoring defense is 50% of what wins games

Hyping up QB vs QB matchups is beyond retarded. It's Rodgers vs NE's defense and Brady vs GB's defense.
Brady didn't own Peyton Manning, Bill Belichick did.

Can anyone give a reason other than Super Bowls (team accomplishment) for Brady being better?

Spreadsheet.
Nobody has won more with less on the offensive side of the ball than Tommy.

This is 100% using the eye test and I have zero data to prove this.
But I watch Brady and all I can think about is how easy everything is set up for him.
Every play they're running sets and routes and concepts that put ONE defender into a bad matchup and delivering that very open receiver a short pass. It seems like its overwhelmingly his first read and it's just pitch and catch.
And then their deep plays almost always seem dialed up and have some poor defender so out of sorts and sprinting for his life trying to figure out where the shite he was supposed to be and why he got beat so bad.
Brady is fantastic at every aspect of the position. I'm not arguing that he'd suck arse if he played for the Colts or Packers right now. But I damn sure think if you switch Brady and Rodgers, Rodgers could do Brady's job better than Brady could do Rodgers'.
I don't think Brady is the best QB of all time.

There might be another QB worth mentioning...

Brady is probably the best winner of all time.
Rodgers is the better QB and its not close.
Then again, let's see what Rodgers does when he's 41.

im as big of "peyton manning is the Goat" category as anyone.
But, Arod is THE BEST skilled qb i have ever seen and it really isnt close. Arod can make every throw brady can make... brady can not make every throw arod can make.

I won't disagree with the argument for Brady and Rodgers, but it always makes me laugh when Brees is completely left out of the discussions...especially if statistics are driving most of the arguments (which they usually seem to be doing).
I would say it's his lack of championships, but he has as many as Rodgers does. It's weird to think about, but sometimes it actually makes me wonder if Brees would be left out if he was like 6'3" or some shite.

Brees not being with a team in either a huge media market or a national following hurts his perception.
Put him on the Cowboys, Steelers, Jets, etc, with the same stats and success and they call him GOAT.
Being in a dome 8+ games a season also impacts his perception, as opposed to playing in the goddamn frozen tundra.

When you get right down to it the whole argument is dumb. Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers...they're all great QBs. What does it matter what order you put them in or which one is THE greatest?
