Not a first ballot HOFer. But he’ll get in.

Does he deserve in? No

Never had a season as a clear cut top 5 QB. Even during his first SB season he had a medicore regular season. His postseason wasn’t that spectacular either. His defense gave up about 16 ppg during the 4 playoff games. Yet he gets most of the credit because he’s the QB. He was efficient but threw for under 200 yards in the first 2 games, had a mediocre NFCCG, and had a good but not all world performance in the SB.

Second SB run was much better but winning that first SB against record breaking Pats is what really pushes him over.

So will he make it in? 100%

Two SBs and MVPs for both, no truly elite seasons but big volume stats, and played for a big market team. Being a Manning can’t hurt either.

Eli more than likely gets in with his 2 Superbowl wins. Including over that 07 Pats team, who is the only team to evee go 16-0.

Personally, I'm not sure if he was ever an elite Qb though. There was never a point where he was a consensus top 3 qb. Granted, he did play his career the same time as big brother, Brady, Brees, and Rogers.

2 super bowls. Starter in New York City for 16 years. Don't be dumb. He's in.

It's arguable that there was ever a point where he was a consensus top 5.

No, he shouldn’t, as his stats are mainly due to longevity during a period of rule changes to increase the passing game.

He had two SB runs and an iconic pass in addition to beating the undefeated Pats but he was NEVER considered a top NFL QB or even really a top NFC QB.

I’m not sure he was ever considered the top NFC East QB, honestly, given that Romo and McNabb were opposing QBs for large chunks of his career.

Just looked up his stats. I didn’t realize how many interceptions he had thrown. He’s 12th all time in interceptions thrown.

Eli has 244 interceptions for his 16 year career.
Roethlisberger has 191 and Rivers has 198 over the same period.
P. Manning had 251 in 17 years.
Brees has 237 in 19 years.
Brady has 179 in 20 years.
Elway had 226 in 16 years.
Bledsoe had 206 in 14 years.

ranked top 10 all time for passing TDs

This doesn’t matter with today’s qbs. We are playing in a different time. What was his average td rank in the league? Doubt it was even top 10.

Edit: did math, average nfl td tank from 05-18 was 7.4.

57,000 passing yards, 360 TDs, 2 Super Bowls, had his HOF moments in both Super Bowls. That HOF worthy

Only real argument against him is his regular season record, but most of that is attributed to botched draft picks and horrible coaching/management.

He had those two Superbowl runs which skews his postseason numbers

He has a decent lifetime passer rating at 84.1. Over his career in terms of percentage of games won he is about 60%

Maybe first ballot but I would not be surprised if he has to wait a little

I think yes....

His playoff record is really good and he played in a solid division his whole carrier under the NY media scrutiny.

I would give him my vote.

He should easily be in. Giants organization screwed him late in his career drafting WRs instead of linemen and wasted him.

The same people who won’t give him any credit for those incredible road playoff wins in his 2 super runs calling them “team wins” will turn around and say it’s all his fault the giants were .500 with him as a starter over his career.

He scored 14 points in one of the Super Bowls. That’s tannehill numbers
