Eight straight Sweet 16s for Gonzaga

One more to tie Duke and UNC for the most all time.

Next current streak is Houston with 4. I feel like people love to crap on Gonzaga in March (once they play “real competition”), but it’s so incredibly impressive how they keep finding their way to the Sweet 16 year after year.

People that crap on Gonzaga don’t understand college hoops and the nature of the Tourney. The ONLY thing missing is a natty, they have achieved everything else.

It’s incredibly hard to avoid the upset bug over the first weekend, and they’ve done it 8 straight times now.

Yup because they don’t play anyone and their conference sucks.

I’m not impressed

Making it past me picking them to get upset only to lose anyway means little

They play UCLA next? Another team that gets bullied out of the tournament around this time. Should be a fun game.

I hope the Hogs get another crack at them. This lineup would run them out of the gym. UCLA will handle them though.

Yeah I saw someone in another thread comparing them to Virginia, Purdue, and Arizona as perennial tourney chokers. But they are the complete opposite of that. Consistently win tournament games every year. Like someone else said the only thing missing is the national championship and I think that's why people seem to shite on them. But if that's going to be the criteria then there's a lot of teams to shite on.

And it’s really hard to win a National Championship.

Tom Izzo only has one!

Eh at some point you got to get over that hump or you’re just another Purdue

If they were healthy I would give them a great shot at winning.

Timme has been there for 8 of them! Forget Stetson Bennett, he’s the Bo Nix of NCAAB

They play about 5 legit opponents all year including the 1 they lose to in the NCAA tourney. Their bracket always looks like a MEAC Conf tourney.

re: Eight straight Sweet 16s for Gonzaga
Gonzaga is absolutely a "New Blood" in college basketball. Anybody who disagrees has been living under a rock or is a hater. Their non league schedule is one of the toughest, year in and year out, they go out and play tough competition. I would love it if my school had eight straight Sweet 16s. We have seen their program go from playing in a high school gym, to making 26 NCAA appearances, to making a Sweet 16, to making a Final Four, to getting a brand new arena, to making a National Championship and becoming a New Blood of college basketball. They have become a national brand...everyone knows who the "Zags" are. Pretty freaking remarkable!
