It’s pretty dumb as frick to have the two participating teams playing at 2:30 AM in their cities time zones.

I've tried watching but I just cannot listen to Eduardo Perez speak. It's like nails on a chalkboard with it sounding like he constantly has a bubble in his throat

I did see the Santana grand slam though

Yes, i had to go to mlb t make sure ESPN was correct with them having regular standings and this game counting.

I forgot they counted this late preseason shite as real games.

Leave it to MLB to have a real game 8 days before opening day for everyone else.

A lot better than putting a game in Japan in the middle of the season. It should be pretty obvious why they did it this way. If you think they shouldn’t play games in Japan at all that’s another matter but this is pretty much the only way to do it

I would be fine with just making this an exhibition though and not counting it

That's where I was going with it.

I think MLB prefers if these games stay off the radar in the U.S. This is purely a Japanese promotional tour.

Both teams still have Spring training games between this series and the start of the season. Then they will have big ceremonies on ‘Opening Day’ along with the rest of MLB next Thursday. Everyone will pretend this games didn’t happen.

Just don’t look too closely at the standings the first week or two of the season.

So what's the guess with Ichiro here?
Plays these games then going to Retire?

Well seeing that he retired last year in April and announced he was coming back once the games in Japan were set, I would say thats a safe bet.

I see that but today they were talking about how he never officially said he’s retire to the media
And made it appear as if he left it open as this being his last season
