While Jackson torches the league with his arm and legs, defenses are left scrambling to find ways to stop this elite scrambler. According to one of his veteran teammates, Jackson needs to be wary of opposing defenses taking additional shots at his legs throughout the remainder of the 2019 campaign.

"Every time somebody hits him, like man, he don't need to be taking those hits," Ravens safety Earl Thomas said Tuesday. "I think the refs need to pay closer attention to that as well and protect him a little bit more. Because teams are trying to do -- I'm not saying they're trying to hurt Lamar -- but they're definitely going at his legs more than they were doing it at first."

Lamar Jackson runs like a moron

Standing up with the ball hanging out off to the side

His day will come

Yeah, teams should just let him score and not tackle him

If you’re going to run like a runningback, you can take runningback hits

I mean this and only this. Otherwise you’re basically telling the defense they aren’t allowed to try to tackle maybe the most dynamic player in the league as well you possibly can.

And you wont hear that from anyone on the other 29 teams in the league

Gotta love biased reasoning.

Lamar is having a fantastic year. I just don’t think it bodes well for a long career playing the way he does right now.

We went through this with Cam Newton. If you decide to run, be prepared for hits. The league already protects QBs to an absurd degree in the pocket.

When a QB tucks and run, he becomes a runner and therefore, not qualify for the witness protection program.

Ironic coming from Thomas after his hit on Mason Rudolph earlier this year

Nope, sorry that’s not how this works. He’s a great player having an MVP year but that style of play is not sustainable. You don’t get extra protections. Enjoy it while it lasts because either Jackson cools it on the running wild or his career will be short.

The nfl protects pocket passers only.
