So Ridley got 5 more games of suspension than the dolphins owner + watson

I believe the max punishment/suspension allowed for an owner is 6 games, so the league didn’t have much option there
ETA also I saw another NFL guy suggest this also does help undermine Watsons argument about ownership being under different standards than players and would be used in a potential appeal

what happens to an owner when he is suspended?

Can’t be at the facility or games. Not much
ETA and I’m not even 100 percent sure about the facility part. Only know they can’t go to the games

We’ve also got to come up with a better name than -gate. Like it’s been a half century since Nixon lets move on a bit
The use of -gate makes no sense.

They should give them to Tampa. We hired Bowles where our picks at?

Losing a first is a big fricking deal. That blows for them. 3rd ain’t great either, but a first with their shitty team is probably a top 15 pick and franchise level talent.
Only thing shitty about the team is the O line, Dolphins will be in the playoffs this season.

When MIT says your science is wrong, I'm gonna go ahead and side with them.
Add that into the fact the NFLs internal controls were utter dog shite and the entire thing was insanity.
I thought the whole thing was stupid also but their is no disputing the fact that he attempted to tamper with the balls ( if it had a impact is irrelevant ) this millionaire hall of fame QB was having multiple phone calls with part time 12 dollar a hour ball boys. I guess this had nothing to do with the balls and it was because they were buddies and hung out and had so much in common right? This same guy smashed and destroyed his cell phone so the NFL couldn't have any chance of looking at it.

Even if you want to say he did it, the resulting punishment made no sense for the ferocity of the offense. Multiple teams admitted too and had previously been caught doing the same thing and only received a small fine for doing so. Rodgers admitted he likes the balls over inflated. It clearly has no real impact on the game or the teams success, and the investigation was a total sham built on bad science and bad process to get to an end result the league wanted. So either way you slice it, deflategate was an absolute nonsense endeavor that is truly one of the dumbest things to happen in league history
ETA man the dolphins fanbase has zero presence on this site, this thread is barely staying up on the first page

This is total BS
the league has rules for a reason. The balls should be inflated to what the rules say, end of story.
And the fact that you say it has no impact on the game is laughable

The rules and prior precedent say it’s a small fine if it happens.
Vikings did the same thing. Team got fined and that was it. Rodgers admitted to overinflating the balls because he prefers them that way. Every QB wants the QB worked in some way, hell we give the kickers their own special ball every fourth down. Spare me the theatrics about the rule book

The patriots have won 3 Super Bowls since that incident and Tom Brady has built an entire 3rd hall of fame worthy career since that incident including 4 Super Bowl wins so I’m hard pressed to see where the impact was felt when this supposed advantage was taken away

Sugar coat it all you want, you’re wrong
If it had ZERO impact on the game, why would he do it?
If its net impact on the game or how he throws/grips the ball is zero, why was he doing it? Please answer that.
I know he’s your boy, but he was wrong and cheating and you know it

Why has he on field play improved since that incident?
But whatever man I don’t care to try to convince you, your minds made up

Why are you being so disingenuous?
If it had zero impact why was he doing it?
Why weasel away from that question?

If that rule is so sacred why did other offenders not get punished as much, if even at all?

You haven’t responded to anything I say, you just keep pivoting to other nonsense. I’m not doing this troll dance with you
If he did it, he did it because it was his preference. His play and the patriots continued and increased excellence since that happens proved that if it did happen then it was likely a silly superstition/preference that had no actual effect on his play. Some players wear 2 left socks for good luck, maybe that was Toms version of that. The whole thing is a joke
But hey. You’ve got your point of view and it ain’t changing. And I have my point of view and it ain’t changing. That’s all there is to it. Feel free to search the 10000s of posts I had on this when it happened a decade ago if you want to continue this

I’m not talking about the rule or anything like that. I think it was a little overboard as well, but for him to say it had no impact on the game is just wrong

Relax man, I’m not trying to shite on Brady or his reputation or his accomplishments. I’m not even saying what he did was a huge deal… but you saying that it had ZERO impact on the game is just retarded and you taking up for your boy. It’s ok man, most of us here would do it too if it were ‘our guy’

Notice how you keep chopping out most of my post and ignoring anything I actually rebuttal to you? I mean I do
