They got caught talking to Sean Payton as well before he had officially retired. They tried to officially talk to him after the retirement and the Saints said go frick yourself.

I think they still will have a 1st rounder next year from the Trey Lance trade, their own 2nd, and 2 3rds for 2023 so they’ll probably be alright given how much draft capital they were sitting on
