If the astros win it, absolutely. If the Dodgers win, there are a couple of guys who could win it, but nobody really crushing it. If Joc or Taylor have a good game, probably. Maybe bellinger or Forsthye as well? But Springer is by far the hottest player right now for either team

No, Springer's hair cut looks that way on purpose and he's actually likeable. So in at least two ways he's not Lebron James.

he is the current odds favorite by a significant margin. if the astros win, it would take something big from another player to get it.

Bregman had his chance to be the MVP last night and came up empty.

Taylor may be the MVP for LA. He’s been solid.

Agree. It was all set up for Bregs...Taylor would be on my short list for sure. But so is Bregman

Joc has 3 hr 5 RBI 2 2B's in 14 ABs 1.580 OPS

Springer has 4 Hr 5 RBI in 24 ABs 1.441 OPS

No, because they're not going to give it to him if HOU loses. LAD has legitimate contenders for the award as well. Joc and Taylor have both been tremendous. Heck, I'd venture to say Taylor is the most feared bat in LAD's lineup right now.

If HOU wins I think Springer is the favorite right now but if Bregs comes up big he could steal it. He's been terrific defensively and decent at the plate all things considered.

only problem is Joc is feast or famine. all his outs are K's, whereas springer has a few walks and has probably scored way more runs than Pederson.

Basically, the dodgers are getting production from different/random guys on every night. Whereas the top of the astros lineup has consistently come through for them.

If the Dodgers win and Kershaw pitches 3 innings of shutout ball they'll probably give the MVP to him.

Interesting you bring up Forsythe in this conversation. I know Logan pretty well from going to the same high school, and our siblings playing other sports together for several years. Another mutual friend and I were talking last night when he got pulled for Utley. I imagine if you are reading this thread, you know a bit about baseball; and have watched the past few games. Why in the hell would Roberts pull Forsythe, a guy that has been hitting really well this series, for Utley, a guy that is 0'fer his last 15 or so AB's. Obviously Utley got on via HBP and it worked out, but we just couldn't understand that move(and obviously we are looking at it through some jaded lenses as we'd rather see Logan in there). So I figured I'd see what you guys thought.

They took him out to double switch him out and move the pitcher slot away since Forsythe was the last out in the previous inning. They had some other options aside from Utley though (Kike, Culbertson) but I guess they liked the Utley Verlander matchup

It was a double switch when Watson came in the game. Pitcher's spot was due up second and McCann (L), Gonzalez (S, but much better vs. RHP), and Reddick due up with 2 out. Roberts wanted Watson to face all 3 but not have to bat.

Altuve could still steal the MVP too
