There will be tons of civil rights lawsuits and Godell throws free speech under the bus.

Pussied out and sucking up to the msn.

He did the right wing to do.

He will not sit by and allow those players to cause a hit in the owners pockets..

He had to stop the bleeding, so he did the only wing to do and it was the right one.

Freedom of speech has nothing to do with companies like the NFL.

It protects against the government suppressing opinions.

I don't care about this whole kneeling situation, I just get mad that people don't know the constitution.

Freedom of speech does not mean you can say and do whatever you want, whenever you want without repercussions. It just means you won't get prosecuted for it.

Freedom of speech only guarantees you won't be prosecuted by the government. It does not guarantee you freedom from all consequences, including consequences from your employer.

NFL owners are within their rights to prohibit employees from engaging in political/social protest and activism while they're at work and in uniform. Nobody is violating their freedom of speech by telling them they aren't allowed to protest in their off time.

Goodell is the boss...........let him run his company.

Good for him! Glad he is not bowing down to the politically correctness of this insanity!

1. It's Goodell

2. The owners voted on it (it was 31-0 for the changes); the owners are Goodell's bosses

3. .No civil rights are infringed - the players can still protest - now they just do it by remaining in the locker room

4. The MSN seemed to be more on the players side than the NFL's side; they loved to keep bringing it up while the NFL just wanted it to die down

Rough night. Resorted to an old pal of mine named Jack.
