the Browns likely find a way to keep him on the PUP list in 2025 while finding another creative solution to keep him away from the building in 2026.

That was from an article I linked two days after Christmas

He will never take another snap for the Browns, they added another year to his contract so they can cut him after the 2026 season. So he will be a post June 1st 2027 cut, but just collecting paychecks and crushing their cap until then.

I wonder how much of the contract was insured.

No way they give out $250mil guaranteed and not insure some of it. They also get cap credit the next year for money reimbursed by insurance. Their cap might not be as bad as people are assuming.

ESPN article about insured contacts and cap relief

don't think he ever plays again and really doesn't care.

I definitely don’t think they want him mentoring a rookie QB.

Guy shouldn’t be anywhere near that organization and building. Management fricked up with the contract, but he would just be a cancer around the team.

QB Deshaun Watson ruptured his Achilles again, further testing showed, and he had another surgery on Thursday to repair it. Less than 3 months after the original tear, it happened again.

This is mind boggling. I’ve torn both Achilles playing sports. I had a third Achilles surgery to remove a bone spur in my heel. The recovery and rehab was the same all three times. Three months is not NEAR enough time to begin any type of strenuous rehab. You have to be very patient with this type of injury regardless of who your Dr is and access to facilities and other quality resources

He's extremely rich, i'm sure he's fine sitting out another season, let me get that karma where i'm paid a stupid amount of millions without having to do my job.
