Derek Carr’s Passing Chart Is ... Interesting. Rarely throws more than 10 yds.

This is for the season. He rarely throws more than 10 yards downfield. This looks like a recipe for an offense stuck in the mud. I get the West Coast offense concept, but, this is a bit much. Or, too little.

Ehhh, line has been so bad it's hard to attempt many further down field if you don't have the time for the WR's to get that far.

Carr is a qb that has the game to air it out downfield. I get that Gruden is a true west coast guy, but between the new offensively heavy rules and handcuffing Carr, he is trying to jam that square peg into the round hole.

Oh now you done it.

Ruined GOAT status.

Once people catch on to check-down NFL, pitch and catch...they'll have to go back and rewatch those old 80's NFL films of 20 yard outs...and rethink what they think about all these QBs playing today.

Before this game:
San Fran 16 sacks in 8 games, T-25th
Oakland allows 17 sacks in 8 games, T-17th

After this game:
San Fran 24 sacks in 9 games, T-2nd
Oakland allows 25 sacks in 9 games, 7th

Wonder why they don't go deep? That's why.

Rich Gannon made a career out of throwing it to the line of scrimmage.

He has fantastic hands. He has too many drops, though.

His drops aren't what have killed him these last 2 years. Unless you think he's dropped about 600 yards worth of passes

He has pretty bad hands. I'm surprised by it too.

He's got one of, if the worst, contested catch % in the league.

Hard to throw down field when you wearing F-ing eye liner.

I'm not surprised by his drops.

He had a ton at Alabama.

The skill is there, is what I'm saying. When I think of stone hands, I think of guys that you can SEE that they have bad hands. They're stiff and you can tell the hand-eye coordination isn't there.

I do wish Carr would take more shots down field, but this has literally been the offense this year:

-1st down - run off tackle or up the middle.
-2nd down - short pass to Cook, or another run.
-Flag on the play for holding.
-2nd and long - 3 yard pass or a sack.
-3rd and long - another 3 yard pass or a sack.

Carr hasn't looked good at all since the Redskins game of last year, but he's not getting any help. This team and franchise is so fricking dysfunctional.

Cooper had drops, but it was overblown. He had 18 drops his rookie year, but only 4 the following year, and people still said he dropped it too much. There were games where Carr only targeted him once or twice a game, and he would be open. Some of that is attributed though to a lack of chemistry and the offensive line playing poor.

Also keep in mind the unimaginative offensive coordinators. Todd Downing pretty much destroyed anything good the offense had going for them.
