Two ring chasing vets, highly coveted, choose to sign with James and russ for the title run.

Woj:

Houston plans to use its two open roster spots on forwards DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Green.

They may neither even play. Tbt these 2 guys and house are fighting for one role imo. House isn’t to be trusted imo. If he isn’t ready for post season ball one of these fella will get the nod.

Suddenly the Rockets have a plethora of capable wings who can play multiple positions.

Jeff Green is so capable that he got waived by a playoff team and sat on the sidelines for 2 months.

The delusion.

Honestly thought Jeff Green retired like 3 years ago.

Jeff had one of his best years ever last year. He just didn’t fit with Utah is doing on offense. Still has some left in the tank.

Chose Houston over other suitors who were in pursuit including milwaukee and lakers.

Different teams have different circumstances. Many times players have gotten bought out and helped their new team.

It’s happened with the Rockets many times.

Josh Smith, Austin Rivers, Kenneth Faried, Gerald Green, and others I know I’m forgetting. They were all buyout signings in recent years.

At minimum, they’re good depth to keep guys fresh for the playoffs. At best, they could find a spot in the rotation after a bad fit on their previous team.

He wasn’t bought out. He was waived.

That’s a lot of words to not address the fact he has been u signed for 2 months.

It’s about fit, and nobody is expecting him to get heavy minutes.

It’s taking a flyer on a guy. Jeff Green isn’t even being signed for the rest of the season at this point. He’s signing a 10 day contract for now.
