Were all of those players starters last season?

There is literally one right above your post.

Im starting to wonder if maybe upper level D1 isnt his thing. I know you cant really make that assumption until some games have been played but I wonder if he's not trying some things that worked in the locker room at Jackson that arent working at Colorado. Im sure the type of athlete/people they get a colorado are completely different.

Those years spent as an analyst. That's proof enough for me. Deion has an eye for specific athletic attributes and abilities. I saw it for years on NFL Network in combine coverage, the way he'd break down games, etc.
You think he's not reading a script? Lmao

i get turning over the roster, but at a certain point you need to at least keep some warm bodies. especially on the lines.

I think this first season is going to be a nightmare for Colorado Now, over time, when you can start recruiting he should be fine
But how would he get a lot in the transfer portal after a crappy first season? Prime’s shine would be gone

You're just making up a low weight for him. Give it time. He has a good frame he can add to if he's dedicated to adding weight.
Champ was real thin his freshman year too. He was only 184 at the 1999 NFL Combine. I was not making a comparison to Champ's NFL career. That's way down the line for Hunter. We're talking about college football, and for that, it's a good comparison. It's rare that guys can play offense and defense in major CFB. Hunter will do it at the exact positions Champ did. I think Champ was a little better with straight-line speed. He was a track guy with Georgia too. Hunter has more lateral quickness and moves in his game. Two rare athletes with ability to excel at CB and WR.

You guys only see the headlines. And those headlines are sensationalized to show all the people leaving to create the impression of panic in Boulder.
It's quite the opposite. They literally told people the truth and they chose to leave. They were either told they were not going to be on the team (but could stay on scholarship and attend school) or that they were significantly down the depth chart...like the supposed star of the spring game at WR who was going to be 5th/6th on the chart.
You are not paying attention to the pieces coming in. And they continue to come in. 3 FSU guys yesterday. Tennessee DT today. Prime will be just fine. Every player coming in is a talent upgrade over the guys they are pushing out.
That's just college football these days.

I'm buying some of it. But in this mass exodus is also players that cut into the meat and not just fat. Including one of the guys who came with him from Jackson.

He literally got cut from the team. Not good enough. Prime gave him a chance and cut bait.

I'm guessing you were posting that as an add-on to the thread and just replied to the last post you saw, and not directing that specifically to me.
A lot of these guys are just looking for a reason to disparage what Deion is doing. If people think Deion was reading off a script on NFL Network, they are clueless, and it's probably more about a conspiratorial conservative worldview.
Some of the showmanship is a bit much for me sometimes. I never really liked when he did the high-stepping on the way to the end zone to be honest. But Deion is much more than hype. He knows what he's doing, and he's going to stack that roster with talented athletes.

I think its 2 from FSU. Gant and McLendon. McLendon spent all last year batching on Twitter that he wasn't making enough NLI money and clowning the rest of his team. We were super happy he left. Gant is a nice player. Definitely upgraded talent wise to probably any other LB on that team. Now today a backup DB Cooper entered the portal. I suspect colorado will be his destination but he just entered a couple hours ago. Unless i am missing someone its only been 2 from FSU and 1 was complete selfish ahole.

It’s sad but Deion’s biggest risk to success are his feet and legs. He’s barely holding on to them. Don’t minimize his ability to recruit players and coaches. He will attract a certain subset of elite players.

quote:
Colorado Buffaloes Football Travis Gray, son of Lamarr Gray, an outside linebacker on the 1990 national championship team, revealed how blunt Deion Sanders was when he cut him?? “He told me, ‘You’re 6-foot-8, 320 pounds. I know in my heart of hearts a school is going to pick you up in the portal when you enter. Make your weaknesses your strengths and keep progressing. I hope you have a great future, it just won’t be here at the University of Colorado.’” Via (via @TheAthletic / @davidubben)
