His son has to earn royalties somehow to pay restitution to that security guard he basically disabled.
From NY Post LINK:
Deion Sanders’ son, Shilo Sanders, has filed for bankruptcy in an apparent attempt to avoid liability for a nearly $12 million judgment from a Texas court over an incident in which he was accused of assaulting a school security guard in high school.
Shilo, a defensive back on the Colorado football team that is coached by his father, was accused of assaulting John Darjean, a security guard at Focus Academies in Dallas, in 2015, according to court documents first revealed by the Colorado outlet Westword last week.
In a lawsuit filed in 2016, Darjean claimed he had “sustained severe and permanent injuries including a broken neck, damage to his cervical spine, permanent neurological injuries and irreversible incontinence,” as a result of the alleged assault from Shilo.
Shilo had reportedly been taken to in-school suspension for violating the school’s no-phone policy and called his mother, Pilar Sanders.
Deion and Pilar Sanders divorced in 2013.
Deion was reportedly looped into the situation on the phone via an assistant coach in Darjean’s office.
When Deion heard that Shilo was talking to Pilar, he requested Darjean take the phone away from his son.
“You’re my brother in Christ, I need you to go get the phone…as soon as you get the phone from him, give me a call back,” Deion was said to have told Darjean, according to a court filing earlier this year, as covered by Westword.
When Darjean attempted to take Shilo’s phone, Shilo allegedly elbowed the security guard in the chest and knocked him to the ground.
Darjean sued in 2016 in Texas state court.
The case finally went to trial in 2022. Shilo did not attend court for the case, and it was ruled that he had committed assault and battery.
He was ordered to pay Darjean $11.89 million.
“The Court finds that Shilo Sanders’ actions were the proximate cause of John Darjean’s injuries/damages,” the judgment said in 2022, according to USA Today.
“The Court further finds that Shio Sanders’ actions were a substantial factor in bringing about the physical and mental injuries sustained by John Darjean, without which such injuries and damages would not have occurred.”
Shilo filed for bankruptcy last October, disclosing only $320,000 in assets, despite the fact that he has seemingly had many lucrative NIL opportunities.
“Contrary to the schedules, Shilo has admitted acquiring vast amounts of high-end and expensive clothing,” a court filing from Darjean’s attorneys said earlier this year, according to Westword. “For example, on his YouTube Channel posted on May 4, 2023, he states, ‘Alright we at the Louis (Vuitton) Store I am trying to spend at least $50,000 today.’”
This is like reality TV. Could he be prosecuted for trying to mislead the court regarding his wealth?

When the Head Coach is actually the team cancer:

A year later and the fight song doesn’t even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn’t play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son’s song “Perfect Timing.”

This is not the first time a Colorado coach had his song playing QB. Dan Hawkins and his son were at CU in the past. I'd forgotten about this until looking at wiki:
Prior to the 2009 season, Hawkins, under fire for his performance at Colorado thus far, publicly pledged "ten wins no excuses". The team ended that year with a 3–9 record. On November 26, 2009, Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn announced that Hawkins would return as head football coach for the 2010 season, despite an overall record at Colorado of 16–33.
On November 6, 2010, Colorado blew a 28-point fourth quarter lead over the Kansas Jayhawks and lost, 52–45, the biggest collapse in the 121-year history of Colorado football.[8] While still nursing that large lead in the fourth quarter, Hawkins continued to have his team throw the ball on offense instead of running it, allowing Kansas time to mount its comeback. There has been widespread suspicion Hawkins made that choice because he was more concerned about his quarterback, son Cody Hawkins, breaking the school's all-time passing record than winning the game.[9]
After the Kansas loss, Hawkins was criticized for cutting his contractually-obligated post-game interview with radio station KOA short after just two questions and 27 seconds. After the interviewer asked him why Colorado didn't run the ball more to protect their shrinking lead, he dismissively replied, "We were playing football moving it both ways. A tough day. Thanks, guys."[10]
As it turned out, it would be the last game Hawkins would coach at Colorado. He was fired on November 9, 2010.[11] He was making approximately $1.5 million a year including incentives and base salary; his buyout was approximately $2 million.[8] Longtime assistant Brian Cabral finished out the season.
CU was outscored by 35 points in the 4th quarter.
Kansas took over 4 minutes to score at the start of the 4th quarter, down 28. Got an on-sides kick. Scored about 90 seconds later. Colorado was moving the ball, got cute with a reverse, play blown up, guy fumbles, Kansas scoop and score. It's a 7pt game. Colorado comes out throwing, and Kansas gets an interception within a couple plays. They score to tie. Started 4th quarter down 28. By the 4:30 mark, the game was tied. Colorado 3 & out. Kansas takes the lead with 50 seconds left. Colorado goes down the field to about the 8yd line with 8 seconds left. Wide open in the end zone and receiver doesn't complete the catch, going to the ground and securing possession. Kansas wins.

sounds like the Athletic Director is spineless...
The athletic department has already said the claim Deion made that statement was false.
quote:
"The report that Coach Prime instructed the CU band to refrain from playing the fight song is completely false," the CU Athletic Department said.
quote:
"The fight songs 'Glory, Glory, Colorado' and 'Fight CU' have been played after CU touchdowns and field goals for years and were played every time the Buffaloes scored against North Dakota State earlier this season. It’s common throughout college football for individual players to have small snippets of songs played during games," CU Athletics said.

If the incident happened in 2015, Shilo would have only been about 15 years old. So how are his parents not named as defendants in the lawsuit and the plaintiff going after Deion financially? Especially since according to what you quoted, the coach was attempting to take Shilo's phone at Deion's request.

So the band still plays after the a td?
So this thread was a nothingburger? Gotcha

I believe the court case was around 2021 or maybe later. Shiloh would be an adult at that time. That's all I got.

Gotcha. And I’m not saying good black coaches can’t or won’t win it. It’s just not many rah rah guys gettin’ to the top of the mountain. Coaches like Sanders.

I don't think people are inclined to believe what Deion has to say any longer.
