I'm not believer in Tyler White at DH or the DH by committee for partial off days. Cruz was an opportunity to add a legitimate power bat to the lineup.

Barring a trade, I'm not sure there's any legitimate DH options that are an upgrade to what we've got. At this point my guess is the go with Tyler White out of the gate , Brantley in left and Tucker goes to AAA. If White fails and Tucker picks up where he left off at AAA... Brantley to DH and Tucker to LF.

Yeah, I think Tucker is going to get the Opening Day chance to be LH DH complementing White from the right side.

If White fails to produce with Tucker doing well, Brantley DHs and Tucker plays LF.

If Tucker struggles, Brantley plays the field more with White DH’ing.

If no more moves are made, management failed. PERIOD. Window is open and we’re pissing it away.

Nah, truthfully we have until trade deadline and waiver deadline to make a championship type move.

When you remember where the 2017 team was prior to those deadlines and where they finished, you should realize the team we have now wins its division.

There's really no sense in overpaying in salary and/or prospects when you can afford to wait on their first half production and likely get them cheaper.

Just like last year when we DIDN’T make a move near the deadline because we are hoarders.....

They would have had to replace a broken Correa and underperforming Reddick last year while adding realmulto for the Astros to compete with the Red Sox last year. Not to mention a gimpy Altuve was your DH.

There was no move that was going to beat the Red Sox. You’d be pissing away your farm.

It’s clear, Luhnow wants to see which Correa shows up to play before he makes serious moves. The organization is 1 season removed from a championship and some of you crybabies can’t enjoy it and see that Luhnow and Crane did exactly what they said they would do. I don’t understand why some of you think that they’re suddenly going to decide, “let’s throw caution to the wind and start making moves to appease the crybaby subgroup of our fanbase.”

This organization makes value-based decisions. They do not make emotional decisions.

While I agree it was clear last year was not going to be our year I disagree with everything else. We have a strong core group for maybe another 4 years max. We need to win at least one more title with this core. If this core only wins 1 title that will be underachieving. I would rather put the hammer down and do what it takes to win another one or two titles over the next few years and then lets worry about the rest.

Trade tucker to get an elite catcher. Lets trade for a legit number 3 and lets go win a fricking title.

Yeah I didn’t live through 2010-2013 for a 5 year window. The plan has always been to build a long term sustainable winner in the mold of St Louis when Luhnow was there.

They can make win now type moves without selling off the entire farm system. There are still plenty of moves to be made and I don’t understand how people can realistically think that they are done doing anything that will help next year.

Also if you believe the rumor mill they had a deal basically done for Harper when the Nats owner vetoed it. That’s about as aggressive as it gets

It seems long term “competitiveness” is better for some than winning another championship or two followed by 3 or 4 years of being cellar dwellers while rebuilding again.
Of course, some say “why not both?” (Without becoming cellar dwellers, obviously) Im not sure its possible.

I think both is possible. In my post I said we have a 4 or 5 year window where we would win multiple titles. I said after that window we can worry about the rest then. I fully believe that we can sustain success, but we have the best chance over the next few years and we need to take the opportunity and fricking win.

We will not be able to retain all the guys. That is a fact. Lets win why they are under control and if we have guys who can step in and replaced them when that day comes great, but lets worry about that then.

The window DOES NOT have to close in four years. It's amazing to me that some of you are ready to sell everything for the next few years.

Let's compete now, make smart moves and deals that will field a championship team but not sacrifice future success. We had the second best team in baseball last season and potentially could have been the best had the team not been so injury plagued.

Throughout the rebuild the current stage, I think Crane, Luhnow and the rest of management have proven they know what they are doing. Have a little faith.

@pedrogomezESPN

Just ran into Scott Boras at Houston airport as we were each headed to different gates. Asked if he was switching planes or was in town. He gave a very cryptic answer insinuating he was IN Houston. Hmmmm, Bryce to the Astros?

Oh ok.
