Dallas the qualifying offer in hopes of bringing him back.

He’d never take it. This is his one shot for a big deal which regardless of lances status we won’t give imo when watching the direction of the front office looking for velo the last couple years

Losing LMJ for the season would hurt.

I have pretty much written Keuchel off of the roster for next year.

Rotation could look like JV, Cole, James, McHugh, Valdez/Peacock/Whitley, but I'd love to see Morton back, and I think the Astros should really go after Eovaldi in free agency. Worth calling about Sonny Gray too, but I doubt there's a deal there.

C seems to be the next biggest concern (if not the biggest concern) and I think barring a trade for Realmuto then Grandal on a shorter deal is probably the best answer.

If Valdez can correct and or limit his walks issue he’s your lefty replacement for Dallas. Then it’s just about whether he’s durable for a full season. Big if, I know.

If Lance is hurt, we may need to go out and fight for an eovaldi type guy.

To me there have to be some decisions made about our bullpen. Peacock, Devo, Harris, Smith, And Rondon. The latter two turned out to be busts as far as their impact in the post season. I’m still trying to figure out how either guy replaced Harris on the ALCS roster. Who knows whether peacock’s and devo’s effectiveness has run its course or if they’re salvageable.

They should definitely do all they can to get Morton back for a season. If Lance is for sure out for 2019, which would just be awful, I think getting a guy like Evoldi might become a must.

Maybe not during the offseason but for sure before the playoffs next year.

Cionel Perez is another internal option.

The Yankees are sending gray to Houston. Not a chance.

I am curious to see what the market for Marwin is. I want him back.

If the news about McCullers is true I think they look for outside help for the rotation along with trying to bring Morton back

Keuchel isn’t accepting the QO

Outside of Eovaldi who has been mentioned, I'd love to get Patrick Corbin.

Former Astro Jordan Lyles is interesting as well as a possibly cheap option.

Sigh...it was a fun ride this year. To win 103 games, with a roster half full of AAA guys for a lot of the season...was mighty impressive! Gotta get healthy for next year, and I'm sure that will entail a lot more games half full of AAA guys. But, I look forward to it and look forward to climbing that mountain again! Thanks to all of the DAT through it all!!!!

We have four potential starters Whitley James Perez and Valdez. The chances of hitting on all four is low however each offers a different intriguing set of skills. Also have jb bukauskas and Corbin martin right there. I wouldn’t be against making a package with several to kick the tires on realmuto

Corbin will be expensive and Lyles is pretty bad. I like the idea of Eovaldi, he’s the type we’ve excelled in turning around before

Yeah, he's probably the most attractive FA SP, unless Kershaw opts out of 2 years and $65M to test the market on a huge deal.

Matt Harvey will be a FA as well, wonder if Strom can turn him around. He started pitching a little better in Cincinnati.

Yeah I think Corbin is going to get 4 or maybe 5 years for 70-80m. I just don’t see us giving that out. Eovaldi won’t be cheap but he would probably be like 3 years in the high 30s to low 40s range. Not sure if we would do that and keep Morton though

I would love to get Realmuto.

I would probably do Alvarez, James, Perez and Jonathan Arauz or something like that. I wouldn’t do anything with Tucker or Whitley and I would really like to keep Freudis Nova if possible. Not sure if the above would be the best offer though

I don't know if I'd include James.

Valdez though, sure.

Maybe a Bukauskas, Valdez, Stubbs deal.

I would rather give up Valdez for sure than James. I don’t think that package is getting Realmuto

Probably have to give up Alvarez, if Tucker, Whitley, and James are out. Which I'd be okay with.

The only way I feel good about giving up James is if we sign another middle rotation type starter.

I think he's are best bet to perform well in the rotation this upcoming season
