I agree that I don't think you can give one player 10 years with no opt outs. It would have to be structured right but I don't see how you can compare Harper to Carlos Lee or a guy like Pujols. Carlos was always fat, a bad defender but could hit. I always argued he gave us what we paid him to give us.

The more I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back with the Nats. I'm not sure anyone else is offering $300M.

I do agree with this. Completely.

But what a heck of a run they could make for the first 3-4 years.

I waited 44 years to see my first WS championship. I’d sacrifice 6 years of mediocrity if the first 4 brought the team another ring or two.

I know man... I’m just powerball day dreaming. I truly don’t like Harper. But I do realize he adds tremendous depth to the lineup.

I really don’t want abreu though.

I have to admit, I was worried he was going to be too dedicated to the game like Altuve. How annoying is that guy?

The fact Morton hasn't already been signed leads me to believe that there is some chess being played.

DeRosa was on MLBN last night when the panel began discussing Morton and the Rays. Everyone threw in their .02 cents, but DeRosa, who is BFFs with McCann, said NO way he's going to the Rays.

I think Morton has something unofficially worked out with Luhnow, and somehow not revealing that benefits the organization in some way until we work out other deals.

I do not want J.A. Happ.

I know how that story ends... bringing him back will equate to stepping barefoot on the cold mushy condom that didn’t make it in the trash the night before.

Sure, the initial thought is “hey! I had sex last night.” And then your hungover mind breaks through the fog that it was with the same 50 pound overweight slump-buster you used a couple of years ago. And you remember quickly that she was a shitty lay that drank only premium liquor and when you didn’t call her back she told all her friends you have a little pecker.

Put me in the Anti-Happ club. He already failed in Houston once.
