In case anyone missed MLBN’s MLB Now, Brian Kenny, Verducci, and Bo Porter all unanimously declared Astros Team of the Decade, with a good breakdown of postseason performance and how they have done it

I would recommend watching it. Especially if you are a conflicted Dodger or Yankee fan. LOL

Astros will meet on Willson Contreras here. Their tentative trade at the deadline for him was nixed by Astros owner Jim Crane. Dusty does love Martin Maldonado catching their great pitchers. Contreras market will be strong either way.

I wouldn't want to spend too much on a 30 year old C/DH.

If the price is right though...

I’d rather keep Vasquez than go for Contreras, but there’s no way that’s gonna happen with Maldy under contract.

Call Toronto about Jansen and Oakland about Murphy. Sign a guy who can play LF/1B/DH.

I guess we’ll learn a bit about how much Vasquez appreciates Dusty and being on a championship team

I expect him to go back to Boston and Mancini back to Baltimore

I think this assumption may be flawed since the new Camden dimensions make them an incompatible pair now.

Well, from a purely baseball standpoint, I don’t see where his time with the Astros sheds any light on his ability to place the ball anywhere beyond the pitcher’s mound. LOL

But he did beat cancer and is a swell guy

He may opt in at $10 million as a result. It's a mutual option so we could reject it. Something to watch.

I think that's doubtful, especially not knowing about Yuli coming back. Being a bench warmer is not how you earn that next big deal.

Crane is a zero fux kind of guy. Calling a presser and his gm isn't even aware of it. Lulz.

We got two ships so I ain't mad but wish Nolan Ryan was still in the fold.

If he opted in and the Astros kept him, it wouldn't be too leave him on the bench.

Agreed, but there might be too many moving parts there, especially without an acting GM under contract.

Still think it's 90% or more that Mancini opts out. He has a good track record and most importantly was healthy.
