It's getaway day, and I'm sure this is how we are all feeling about the offense right now:

Meanwhile, whenever the bullpen shows up in a close game:

Unfortunately for the Astros, Lance Lynn seems to have found some magic in his beard, and he somehow wasn't traded because the Rangers apparently must think 2021 is going to be their year. Lynn is 5-4 with a 2.59 career ERA against the Astros.

I see an O/U set at 7.5 for this one, and if I was a gambling man I'd probably put money on the under. I don't gamble though, because that's a sin.

Bold prediction: 3-2 good guys on a Gurriel walk-off HR.

I mean, we did pick up a W yesterday. And are currently sitting comfortably in a playoff spot.

That said, this team is still underachieving, so thanks for the help.

What's up DATers? Just wanted to drop by and say I miss you baws.

I've been busy with work and haven't been able to watch the past couple games anyway so I figured I wouldn't post if I couldn't watch.

I know I said what I said about the Astros and A's postponing their game the other day, and I'm still upset and said I was out, but that was kind of heat of the moment. I'm still trying to decide my next step, but I've watched and loved watching Astros baseball all my life, and it would be pretty damn difficult for me to just walk away from it.

I'm gonna take a deep breath and keep calm, and in the end keep on watching them play. Try this again.

And plus considering 5 Deep is fighting for his life every day, it made me feel bad seeing him start the thread the other day and not having many replies to it. Figured I should contribute something after that too. Sorry for that man.

I’m making myself differentiate between the Lebron/Malcolm Jenkins of the world and a guy like Brantley. I hated the boycott, but it would be disingenuous to act like his stance and the things he said was the same as those guys. His heart is in the right place and I think you could say the same about the other guys on the team. I don’t think they’re trying to be political at all.

They’ve definitely made the least noise. They had the thing with rolling out and kneeling on that giant soaker hose/BLM on the mound, but it was one day only.

Then with the boycott it was largely symbolic and just postponed a game. Easy fix to avoid a giant shitstorm. And as you said, Brantley articulated his point and agree or not, it was not inflammatory unlike that bitch David Price calling people cowards.

Glad to have you back!

After a couple days to mull it over, the "boycott" was the mulligan. I think they were in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. Everyone else had participated and they were going to catch hell either way.

It is over and done with. If they can stick to baseball, then I am on board. One more frick up, and I am out.

I am done with the Saints. They have crossed too many lines. It was quite a 40 year run for me with them, but I am fine with the divorce. I am looking forward to seeing what new activities I can find to occupy Sundays now.

And this also. I thought Uncle Mike actually sounded articulate and reasonable. I had no problem with what he actually said.

He hurt his balls sliding into 3rd base, tagging up from 2nd on a fly ball to right field.

And I am not even kidding.

He stayed in the game and scored on the homer, then eventually left.

It was Altuve doing awkward Altuve things. He didn't even have to slide, and the slide was awkward...and his dickal area hit the bag. Blummer even warned people watching the replay that it would be painful to look at
