Late to the party tonight, but I saw the lineup before the game. What an utter disgrace.

As you say, there has to be more than meets the eye here, especially the 9th inning situation. Given Correa’s nature, there’s no way he doesn’t grab a bat and shove Maldy out of the way under normal circumstances.

They just steadfastly refuse to let resting players pinch hit late in games. That Padres debacle with the Jones dropped pop up stands out. Winning run on 2nd, Yuli available and they let Jones hit for himself. Promptly hits into a DP and we go on to lose.

I would really like to go to Wednesday’s game against Col as I have always enjoyed the weekday afternoon games. But given our propensity to essentially tank those games, I’m not sure I want to spend the money
