Well, the Astros return home to face the Twins (45-63) with a 4-4 road trip record against contending teams and a revamped bullpen.

Frambaw is coming off a shaky start against the Giants, but he did pull down a W. He has been good but not great this season mostly due to a lot of walks in true Astros fashion.

Some guy names Griffin Jax (or Jax Griffin? I don't know or really care...) is starting for the Twins. He's in his first big league season and will be making his 4th start. 26.2 IP, 6.41 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 22 K, 11 BB, 7 HR allowed. He has never faced the Astros, so naturally this is going to probably end up as the best start of his young career.

No word yet on whether Yuli will be back in the lineup, but Fat Breggy still needs more rehab games because, GET THIS shite, he hasn't spent enough time on the basepaths in rehab because he can't get any damn hits.

Meanwhile, Robel is still on the roster. And Dusty Baker is still the manager.

Found this gem in a Kaplan piece this morning. Dusty with the magic touch.

quote:

Taylor is the team’s best lefty reliever, and the Astros figure to deploy him mostly against left-handed hitters. He’s been a lot worse against right-handed hitters this season after holding his own against them last year. His fastball, which averages 93 mph, accounts for a vast majority of his strikeouts this season. His big strikeout of Max Muncy in Tuesday night’s seventh inning was actually the first time he’s struck out a left-handed hitter on his slider all season.

Before we get in to all the things we hate about Dusty and management, I'd like to include this gif as another morning pick me up. Hopefully these become a daily thing...

Agreed. We get the DH back and we're basically facing a AAA pitcher. No offense to Chas, but it's time to give Meyers a full game in CF.

Apparently Yed has been taking some reps at 1B, but Dusty...
quote:

“He’s been working out at first base, also, and I don’t think he’s quite ready,” Baker said. “With situations like this and Yuli having a stiff neck, this would be perfect for him to play first base. He’s not ready yet.”

So if Yuli can't go... that means Diaz at 1B and Robel at 3B, unless Ted can find his old first baseman's mitt.

There is absolutely no reason for Garcia to still be on this roster

If Yuli is looking iffy, I really hope we see some news today of a Taylor Jones call up and Robel demotion.

Or you give this new guy, Jacob Wilson, a call up and he can play 3B while Diaz plays 1B. He's played all over, but 3B seems to be his primary position.

It was annoying giving the Dodges satisfaction last night with a shitty pitching and batting lineup

Those hypocrites cheering on Mookie Betts who played on the known “cheating” Red Sox while booing players who weren’t even on the Astros roster in 2017? Low IQ

Has anyone else been watching countless videos of Dodgers fans fighting each other and throwing $17 beers? They at actually be a worse fan base than the Yankees.

Since trading Straw, we've played 5 games and Chazzz has only started in 2 of them while Meyers has had 3 total ABs, with 2 of them being with 26 outs already.

I know we were in NL ballparks, but thats still absurd.

I don't think it's even close, the Dodgers probably have the worst fan base in MLB.

Were into the part of the schedule to make a run.

Twins 45-63
Rockies 47-61
Angels 54-54
Royals 46-60
Mariners 58-51
Royals
Rangers 39-69
Mariners
Padres 62-48
Mariners
Angels
Rangers
Dbacks 34-75
Angels

Then we close out the last 9 with 3 at Oakland, 6 at home vs Tampa and Oakland.

So up until those last 9, we'll go through a group of opponents that are 385-481 over including 5 of the bottom 8 teams in MLB
