Gotta start this one early, baws. I’m heading to work and won’t have a chance to post again.

Magic Number: 31

What? The DAT has been around for over 10 years.

2013 thread

2011 thread

2008 thread

You get the idea.

I assumed he was living that RV life, traipsing around the great state of Texas, filling up at buccees every day and sprawling out in the state parks for kicks.

Have we discussed this yet?

Ric Flair is throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Astros game on Wednesday against the Tigers at Minute Maid Park

Maybe having daddy in the park will inspire Reddick.

Just for fun, I looked around in a couple of the threads you linked. I pulled this gem from 8/17/11:

quote:

Astros have to win 20 out of the next 39 to get to 60

Gents, this should serve as a reminder that no matter how irritated we get with Hunch or how frustrated we might get when things aren't going as well as we would all like, there was a time and a place many moons ago that was very, very dark. A place where we longed for the day Jordan Lyles would be called up to save the rotation. A place where we hung our hats on guys named Matt Downs and Clint Barmes. Not great days to be alive....

And as a footnote, the 2011 team of course did not win 20 of their last 39 to get to 60. They only made it to 56.

They did parlay that record into the #1 pick of the draft, which yielded the soon to be crowned Mr. Texas, but that isn't what we are about any more.

Let's not forget that Reddick managed to get a groundball to the OF yesterday and scored on Bregman's HR.

Then he scratched the rest of the way.

That one hit probably gets him within a couple of hits of getting his average since mid-June to Mendoza level, and those couple of hits will only take 4 starts.

Sounds like a perfect time for rest.

The Astros recalled IF Jack Mayfield and sent down RHP Cy Sneed, who was optioned to Round Rock after yesterday’s game.

Good thing about playing at home. If the pen sucks it again, they're going to here about it.

Am I missing something? Why Mayfield instead of Straw?

It might just be that Hinch wanted to give Altuve a day off so he brought Mayfield up because he can play 2nd as well as short.

Does Straw being the 26th man and then back down mean the 10 days until he can be called up starts again?

I'm glad we didn't pay for Super JAAAAck's not following the runner on the over-slide at 2B.
