Here's my first ever DAT. Going against their best pitcher last night was a tough one. But this afternoon we're rolling with our own ace!

Also last night's hitting was atrocious. Too many GIDP's and an uncharacteristic night from Tuve. The bats need to come alive today.

Maybe my DAT will spark some offense. And if not....

McHugh has pretty decent since his return which is good news

Also musgrove has given up like 1 run since he's been in the pen I think? 13.1 innings or something

I miss the days of smashing teams 11-3. We were due for a prolonged stretch of cold offense at some point but it's come at the worst possible time

ETA except for October of course

If we can find a way to work Davis into the lineup today, I'm sure that everything will be fine. Hinch is on it.

If he could be pushed to the bp for good it would be great. He could focus on developing one off speed pitch that can hopefully become a put away pitch. In a limited role he has been pushing 95+ on his fb. Add the fact that he doesn't walk people and he could become a late inning guy with a better put away pitch.

Let the man try community leadership.

Pitching is showing some good signs. Time for the ninny clubhouse to respond with their bats.

Agree on Moose. He needs to solely focus on the bullpen. If he continuous to have a fb above 95 and can find the outplay pitch he could become a strong leverage guy and eventually a wade Davis type.

With Clippard in the mix and Musgrove useful in middle relief, there's a chance this turd sandwich of a bullpen can turn it around completely. Need Harris back.

Liriano needs to man up, too.

I started my first on Sunday...and it led to a win, so that was nice.

Then I started the one yesterday and that didn't work so well.

Here is to you starting one for each of the next 10 days

Yep. Davis/Andrew Miller should be his goal. He has made the switch early and at a time in baseball when the value of that archetype is highest. He could make a nice living doing that+more likely to stay healthy. Also will help with our rotation logjam due to ludlows hording

I know my posting to the DAT is new, but as God as my witness I vow to take this sacred honor of thread starting serious (as long as the hometown boys will allow)!! No DAT shall be missed. And one day I hope to have my name enshrined on the outfield leadership scoreboard!!

The Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers are discussing a possible deal to send former MVP and Cy Young-winning starting pitcher Justin Verlander to Houston, sources tell FanRag Sports.

Though the two continue to discuss a deal, completing one won’t be easy. Verlander, 34, is still due to make $28 million in both 2018 and 2019, and has a $22 million option for 2020 that kicks in based on his 2019 performance (a top-5 Cy Young finish triggers the option).

While Detroit is willing to pay some of that money depending on the return, said return would have to be good enough to convince Detroit to do so while also parting ways with an iconic player. Between the money remaining and figuring out the prospects Detroit would receive in return, a decent gap is still believed to exist in talks between the two sides.

The backlash on Luhnow and/or Crane is going to be so ugly if they don't get it done

The fact that they've kept discussing despite that report a week or so ago it was dead makes me think A)Verlander will waive his no trade clause and B) it is a lot closer than people probably think

I am willing to wipe the slate clean on Crane & Luhnow if they pull it off. We know the (2) true untouchables and they would be safe in this deal.
