And they would want you to schedule a family vacation around a couple of games, yet make little to no attempt to putting their lineup together, ever

Yeah, sure, here you go, I got a couple thou just burning a hole in my pocket

And while your at it, don't let me in while the team takes batting practice. I would hate to disturb them

Also, thanks for putting that net up all the way down the foul lines to save my life. Helps to prevent the spread of infection to the players too

Pirates listening on offers for Mitch Keller. Would be insanely expensive with 2 more years of control but he’s really, really good

He'd feel right at home with the Astros with Helen Keller as the manager.

I have heard that the Astros have agreed to a deal to acquire Verlander from the Mets. I know nothing of details, just that. Again, guy that told me has been right before. This was him last year. If any other MLB teams get a whim of this, I’m just a nobody. Know this.

It’s really not that crazy. Astros need a veteran guy who can eat innings. Verlander would surely waive his No trade for here. Mets will have to pay down salary to get rid of him. I’ve seen some Astros fans laughing it off but it’s not outlandish at all if he actually wants to leave

True, it's in no way outlandish. I recently mentioned how Montero's shitty deal could be dumped in such a trade. The fact that it's feasible is a good way for the guy to claim some cred if it happens.

That’s a big no

He’s an inning eater at this point

I can’t make up a possible scenario that would make a lick of sense

Not signing JV might be the only net positive thing our braintrust did this offseason

Yeah I don’t think it’s likely. Mets will almost certainly just hold on to Verlander and Scherzer. But it’s a hell of a lot more likely than trading for Cease and Robert

Are you saying Cohen would give him away?

I mean who’s paying next year’s contract?

Explain feasible to me

Montero and Meyers to the Mets. Pretty fair to me

Crane loves him some JV. I can see a deal where the Mets take back Montero, eat some more salary and get some of our outfielder surplus.

I could also see that deal for Scherzer, if that's your preference.

I just have a feeling Dana has big nuts and wants to swing them around soon.

So, let me get this straight.

Cohen would not only eat JV’s salary, but have Montero’s for dessert

And we aren’t stuck w JV for $43M next year too?

Sign me up. Seems like a lot, but if the Mets need Jake that bad, so be it. LOL

ETA: Or how about they split the difference on what’s owed to Verlander next year and what’s owed to Montero for the next two years total?

Throw in Meyers, who’s making almost nothing by baseball standards.

Not sure they’d eat much more on top of taking Montero. You’re effectively signing Verlander for 1/30 next year (plus the vesting option) over playing in the free agent pitching market, which they will have to do for at least one guy this winter

Verlander won’t be back as long as FODB has not yet fricked off.

Need to be asking about Giolito.

Cease and Robert aren't going to happen. Too much control left.
