The arrogance of not resigning Morton knowing LMJ was out all year and relying on McHugh and peacock to be starters is the height of irresponsibility by a GM of a contending club.
Couple that with his precious farm system developing zero MLB ready contributors for important bullpen roles and you get another good but underachieving team.
I don't care about your 100 wins season when 80 percent of the league is tanking.
Home field in the playoffs with 4 proven starters and a loaded bullpen is the only acceptable situation for this org.

I'll take that as 100% agreement as always the truth hurts.

According to a Chron article, Yordan is already married with a daughter.

Don't forget he was talking about retirement too

He had already bought a condo in del Bova Vista.

I don't sign the checks, but I have to guess they felt the risk was not worth the reward
So far this season, looks like a mistake.
Time will tell.
I truly assumed he would be back and even at a home discount around 12M per for 2 years.
Maybe that extra 5M per was that big a difference to Luhnow. Certainly not ownership

With Morton, the issue is obviously durability. And it's not a small concern either.
He's already at 81 innings pitched this year for a team that is battling for the division title. He's about halfway to his proven highest limit for a season, and we're not even at the halfway mark yet. It looks bad not retaining him right now but remember last season when he broke down (a common occurrence)? That clock is ticking.
We all wish and thought Chuck would be back but he took the most money. He has a ring so why not? But it's probably 50-50 he'll be able to help Tampa in October, unless he has the luckiest physical season of his life at age 35.

All true
Tough calls we don't get to make, but doesn't make us unable to bitch about them.
I also consider some allegiance there too, that's hard to put a price tag on, when you're talking about winning your only WS.
Was 5M the hard number per year? Was it more or less, and how much was the risk worth for a guy who was paid under value on his previous deal?

It makes zero sense. It's not like he got 30 million a year. We are talking about a very reasonable 2 year deal. Lunhow shite the bed
Not that I think you care one bit, but this will be the last response you get from me ever.
You are the very worst of what this website has to offer. The worst. You are of average intelligence and Over-the-top egotistical. And above all, an arse hole. Not just an arse. But the hole of the arse.
Yes, I'm triggered. But for the last time. The DAT used to be a great time, even when the team was losing 100+ games a year, the threads were full of baseball fans wanting to talk baseball. We found enjoyment when Astros fans truly had nothing to be excited about.
And you single-handedly have driven most of those people away with your constant and consistent negative everything-about-everything. Your over-the-top comments that you throw on every wall hoping that one of your turds sticks is just evidence of how simple of a person you truly are. Never mind the fact that you are wrong so damn much but in your simple little head, you're able to turn it into something prophetic. Your ability to cherry pick the tiniest of pieces of information to support your shtick while totally ignoring the mountains of logic and truth which tears your shtick to threads is a talent that is absolutely mesmerizing.
If you are anything in real-life as to what you are on this website, I truly pity your wife.
You are simply the worst of what this website has to offer.

Watch it now. There are a select few that drink handcrafted brews with him that will come in here and defend him. It’s “all funny because you fall for it and he’s just trolling he’s not serious >derp<..
He’s the same exact person on every board on this site. He’s the exact same person on Twitter. And he trolls for going on 5-6 years now.
Mmm-hmmm.

Winston, I don't think you've watched JV pitch this season.
He will definitely give up an HR (or two)... but the Brewers won't win unless they score 6+ runs. That's not happening against JV.
(at least, this is what I keep telling myself)

Good questions. I do know front offices are firmly not into paying for past performances anymore.

Are the Brewers forgoing the DH to let him hit for himself?

I'm so damn thankful for this team and this run. This is such a blast.

It's a bold strategy.
Let's see how it plays out.

I can not imagine bitching like some of you are with the record the team currently has lmao
