DAT 5/28: Padres (Dinny Lamet) @ Astros (Frambaw), 7:10 CDT

This should be an interesting one, as Dinelson Lamet is working his way into the starting rotation and his season high is 3 IP and 41 pitches. Frambaw meanwhile is making his season debut after missing the entire season following a fractured left ring finger in spring traning. He threw 4 scoreless innings and 54 pitches on Sunday in his final rehab start.
So, neither starter figures to go too deep into this one, and we all know about the Astros' bullpen.
Brantley and Castro each have 2 ABs against Lamet as he avoided the Astros last season, while only Austin Nola has an official AB against Frambaw as he somehow avoided San Diego last season.
Also, frick the Dodgers.

Super pumped to see MY ace back in action tonight.
Interested to see the corresponding roster moves due to the activating of Frambaw and Odo. The easy obvious ones are Taylor Jones and Ralph Garza down, but I honestly want to see them send Parades back down to work on his control.

Wonder if we see Javier go 3-4 innings tonight in sort of a tandem start. Can’t see Frambaw going longer than 4-5 unless he’s super efficient but doubt that’s the case with how strong the Padres offense is

Yea it’s tough to have the start of a 10 game stretch being started by two guys that are probably on pitch count due to coming off the IL. If they can each give 5 innings that would be massive, but I have a feeling we will be pretty thin in the bullpen for that Toronto series in Buffalo. Definitely going to have to use Javier at the right time with a lead to eat multiple innings I think

I think Taylor Jones down, probably Kent Emanuel to the 10-day IL.

Framber threw 47 and 65 pitches in his rehab starts s hopefully he's efficient tonight and can pick up some innings on that pitch count

Gonna depend on Yed and Brantley me thinks.

Yeah, definitely depends on Yet and Uncle Mike being ready to play. And I'm just being pessimistic on Kent Emanuel, but "elbow discomfort" is never what you want to hear.

Good call on Emmanuel, forgot about him.

Hate to derail the Padres’ charge on the Dodgers for 3 games. Between the return to their rightful colors and the fact they’re probably the Dodgers’ chief competition these days, I’ve taken a liking to the Padres.
On hold til Monday, though.

The Padres are fun. Would be a great series to go to, might try to head over tomorrow

Yeah, I would have liked to have gone to a game, most probably Sunday. But I have a bunch of obligations to my wife’s family this weekend so I can’t swing it.

Agreed... other than Machado being a jackass and Hosmer being a douche they're pretty likeable.
And I'm even okay with them if they are beating the Dodgers.

Tickets aren't too bad for tomorrow actually. Hopefully, Correa gets to see what $300MM+ looks like up close & personal...

I expect tonight's game to be VERY high scoring though.

This is exactly what I see happening.

I'll be in section 124 Saturday for the HR derby.

No more Paul. It's a good day for baseball no matter what happens tonight.
