Interesting matchups there. We'll see if Home Run Cole can do work, if the kid can handle the pressure and what kind of 'Cock we get vs. their ace.

Missed this from earlier today. Seems White has exhausted his opportunities and the clock is ticking
Missed this from earlier today. Seems White has exhausted his opportunities and the clock is ticking
quote:
For me, he's going to have to keep grinding to try and earn his playing time. It's going to be a little more sporadic, especially as I use the DH spot to use some of our other players," said Hinch.
He's going to keep working, he's doing a lot of work with our hitting coaches and is trying to figure it out. He's a good hitter, he's just not hitting right now. That puts him in a tough spot to be in the lineup
Body control is huge for him," Hinch said. "When he gets going forward, things get out of control and he puts himself in some bad positions to try to break out and get some hits. He's had some tough calls — that always seems to happen when you're not swinging the bat very well. But we need him to get going and he needs to get going."

His clock coincides with the super 2 clock.

I want to see everything BOS has
Expose our guys to every weapon and strategy
Glad we’re not missing Sale, esp after his best outing

Diaz on White:
A man walks down the street
He says, "Why am I soft in the middle, now?
Why am I soft in the middle?
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard"
Bonedigger, Bonedigger
Dogs in the moonlight
Far away in my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly, Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know, I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Fatty
And Fatty, when you call me, you can call me Al
A man walks down the street
He says, "Why am I soft in the middle, now?

I read that to the tune of a Paul Simon song. I think
But I'm not really old enough to know that song
Am I?

Fortunately for all of us, that’s not an old Paul Simon song, relatively.

Since it's an off day, I guess we can talk minor leagues.
Jose Urquidy (formerly known as Jose Hernandez) was promoted from AA Corpus to AAA Round Rock. Urquidy had a 4.09 ERA in 7 games/6 starts (33IP) at Corpus. 40 strikeouts to 5 walks, 2 HR allowed.
As a corresponding move, RHP Cristian Javier was promoted to AA Corpus from A+ Fayetteville. Javier had a 0.94 ERA in 7 games/5 starts (28.2IP) 40 strikeouts to 16 walks
Some players of note:
Lorenzo Quintana, the Cuban catcher we signed prior to last season is off to a strong start at Corpus, batting .320 4 doubles 3HR 15RBI
Garrett Stubbs got off to a slow start in April, hitting just .197 with 11 strikeouts and 4 walks. He's gotten into a groove in May however, hitting .320 with a .469 OBP and 6 walks to 4 strikeouts.
AJ Reed has tanked. Hes hitting .152 with 1HR and 1RBI
The Fresno pitching staff is a nightmare. Among pitchers on our 40 man.. Armenteros 5.55 ERA, Deetz 8.53, Cionel 6.35. Whitley is at 10.80
Seth Beer is due for a promotion. At A+ Fayetteville, hes hitting .328/.414/.602 I doubles 9HR 34RBI 14 walks 30 strikeouts

Not buying the beer hype. Hope we can sell on him while he has value. Reed is done and will be released pretty soon.

I think that's why they drafted him to be honest. Quick flip.
