OK, most DATs are started with a positive vibe. I'm going to try the opposite to get us on a winning streak.....I bitched about Chirinos and he won a game for us Sunday....So, I'll say the front office failed, we need a DH, our 2nd catcher wouldn't make many AAA rosters and we need more pitching. Stop keeping the untouchables....Get us a power hitting 1st baseman while you're at it.

Let the downvotes flow......

Someone snuck a picture of Hunch yesterday when it was time to make out the lineup.

We have only scored in 1 of the last 17 innings. Here's to having a 1-2 run outing by Cole, only to see it squandered by our talented offense.

I bet Bregman gets the day off today.

Regardless of game outcome, the game within the game has become more interesting than win or loss, since our organization clearly doesn't place much importance on having the best regular season record.

For me now, the big questions are not really tied to tonight's final score, but rather will Gerrit Cole finally grow a pair and refuse to accept Hinch and Luhnow's insistence on Stassi receiving and calling his pitches?

How long will Hinch continue to create ways to insert White in as a DH, or even worse, a 1B? Who will get the most rest of regular starters and how much of that will actually relate to their previous performances?

I would love to have some off the record conversations with many of our starters about how they REALLY feel about these scheduled days off, especially when they are doing well at the plate. Cal Ripken played 4,632 straight games. Our tired starters can't play 10 straight in April.

Honestly white needs to be gone and Yuli should be a utility player. This org doesn't care. They have their revenue flowing now and win just enough.

Not ruthless like the Yankees who will crush everyone when healthy.

Hmm, what shall I add? Well, I'll repeat what I said last night about the order. Altuve should be moved down so he's between Bregman and Brantley. It may have an effect on his patience? Hell if I know. He wants to be Aaron Judge now.

The thing about Altuve is that we've all seen this before.

I'm not really concerned long term. We will ride him like a rented mule when he comes out of it.

I know I've already mentioned to you my conspiracy theory on keeping numbers down in order to manage the roster come contract time.

I mean

We probably would have said the same of Ted last year and he was dreadful. White is basically Nori Aoki in a DH costume. A big fat singles hitter. but after all the bitching we do about him, hes hitting .250 with a .377 OBP. But slugging a laughable .295.

Yed could easily hit worse than .250 and get on base less than White in his first 16 games. White hasn't been impossibly bad but it's a question of where do you set the bar of expectations for your DH. White has hit ok and gotten on base well but doesn't drive in anybody and is hitting for 0 power. That's a problem.

I wish AJ would quit playing the names from a hat game with the lineup. Give White an extended run of games at DH for like a week. He got playing time and reached in 7 straight plate appearances last week, AJ then benched him for 2 games and he hasn't gotten on base since.

I'm a fan of the Code Green reference

We should run with that

My problem with White at DH is that typically your DH has a pulse when it comes to power. You don't just plug in a guy that literally only hits singles. Even when Kemp DHs he's a threat on the bases. White is just a threat at the post game food spread.

We are 3 games away from one-fifth of the season, and our primary DH, who really doesn't fill any other role, has 0.0 RBIs

I just can't find any way to defend him using a roster spot on a team that management has already crowned division champs. If you're going to play as if you don't need every game, and your ultimate goal is to win the WS, get busy finding your pieces for the playoff roster.

I actually believe Hinch has had enough, and I truly think White will be very limited from here on out until Luhnow figures out what to do with him.

So I just got a message that 3B prospect Matijevic was suspended for drug abuse

Maybe White can get suspended for carbohydrate abuse
