@BNightengale

Brad Ausmus and Joe Espada will be strong candidates for the Astros' managerial opening. Ausmus finished runner-up to Dusty Baker as manager, and also a runner-up to Dana Brown as GM.

The Luhnow years continue to wither and we'll soon be rebuilt in the image of Jeff Bagwell.

I'd think Dana kind of knew the deal going in. It was obvious how and why Click was let go. He gets to have GM next to his name even if it doesn't mean actual autonomy.

Doesn't make me feel any better about all this, I just won't be surprised if he gets along and goes along, unlike Click.

Almost rather keep FODB if the best we're gonna do is fricking Brad Ausmus. Almost.

I think I'd ask only one question at the interview

Maldonado or Diaz?

He's pissed

He's pissed and moaned at least twice about not getting the Phillies job in 2020 before he got the Astros job. If he thinks the Houston media mistreated him, he has no idea.

I watched the farewell news conference today, and 3/4 of the media there gave him softball questions and sucked him off about his career. It was actually kind of embarrassing how deferential they were, but I'm sure Houston has more than its share of fanboy media members that all markets have.

I'm not saying they should have been disrespectful, but it crossed the line of being respectful. There was a lot of adoration in the questioning.

Former Rangers manager and current Dbacks bench coach Jeff Bannister all but flat out says he wants the Astros job.

That would definitely up the rivalry some more.

Bannister would hurt Tuckers wittle feelings on a daily basis.
