Watson and Morrow or Reed would make me very happy

This was my thinking too, and I would be very happy with it. Throw in McGee as another decent possibility.

We are stuck with Reddick another year right?

Want to know how I know you didn't watch many Astros games until October?

No, we do not need another Beltran.

I think the focus will be bullpen. I expect one of Fisher or Moran to be used in a trade.

I would rather it be Fisher with Tucker so close plus Jake will be healthy again

I also like keeping Moran and seeing what he can do since Marwin will be a FA after next year, and I just don't think there's any way we will be able to pay him with everyone else coming up. Moran wouldn't be able to fill SS/2B, but he could be a decent replacement for Marwin as someone who could play 1B/3B/LF and contribute with the bat

Bregman should be able to fill in at 2B/SS when needed.

By this logic the Dodgers must resign Yu who was rock solid during the season

If they can get a good deal on him like the Astros got on Reddick they should absolutely resign Yu.

Here is my early guess at the pitching situation:
Rotation: JV-DK-LMJ-Chuck-Jabroni
Pen locks: Giles-Devo-Peacock-Musgrove-Harris
Pen pieces with dual residence in HOU/Fresno: Hoyt-Feliz-Guduan
Decisions have to be made on Sipp & Fiers, and by decisions I mean how do we get rid of them? Fiers can be non-tendered, Sipp has a contract.

Martes should continue to develop as a starter in AAA. He is 22 with great stuff, if he’s one of our best 8 relievers then bring him up in August to contribute. Brady Rodgers and Gustavo had TJ surgery last season so they won’t be ready to start 2018. So with 5 pen locks I think we should acquire 2 more pen arms, at least 1 LHP. I like Reed, Morrow, McGee, Mike Minor, Bryan Shaw, etc.

He was low key dominant this year, under the radar for average baseball fan but he is going to be a prized target for a few front offices

Reddick just finished year 1 of a 4-year $52M contract.

Yeah, he was crap in the ALCS and WS, but he was also a large part of the 101 wins that got them there.

I missed him... that would be a good addition.

Martes needs to develop another pitch. ETA: so does Giles for that matter.

I don't think that Giles necessarily needs another pitch. I think that his biggest problem is fastball command and lack of movement. A flat, center cut fastball can be 100 all day, and most ML hitters will do damage.

If the Astros needed an additional SP, and if they could get Yu for a balanced/fair contract -- I'd bring him on, despite his injury concerns and poor post season performance.

Of the FA acquisitions of last off-season, Reddick's garnered the most ridicule from the talking heads on MLBN. However, over the season I think everyone would agree that his contract was one of the most team-friendly in terms of value compared to other off-season contracts.

If they carry 13 pitchers again and I think they do staff looks something like

Verlander
Keuchel
McCullers
Morton
McHugh or Peacock

Then in no order
McHugh or Peacock
Devo
Harris
Musgrove
Giles
New RH arm
New LH arm
Somebody else - resign Luke, Clippard or Liriano? Fiers? Feliz? ...Sipp??

Trading for Britton or Hand is not out of the question either. Lots of options as far as $ and prospects go, Luhnow is probably licking his chops. Not to mention a lot of guys are probably interested in coming to Houston

So apparently nobody likes my idea of making LMJ our closer.

That’s basically what I think. Our middling AAA relievers will eat innings while getting shuttles to and from Fresno. And who knows, maybe Feliz or Hoyt figures something out and becomes a quality middle relief option

I think it's too early to give up on him as a starter. I do think he would be really good at it but having a good starter is still more valuable

Yeah, I'm not giving up on either of those guys yet. Especially Feliz.
