I'm glad for the additional support, but loyalty matters to me.

People claiming they were here all along will only serve to piss off me and the other loyal folk who suffered through the 100+ loss seasons praying for a miracle.

I think there's 4 tiers of fans.

1. Die Hards-those of us who watched every game prior to May 11.

2. Serious bandwagonners-folks who have finally returned after years of faithful following

3. Casual bandwagonners-not big baseball fans but the Astros are their team.

4. Front runners-unloyal pussies who only like us because we're winning. These are your laker, heat, Yankee type fans

What is worse is all those people on the "Astros Fans" blaming Crane for all the Astros issues i.e moving us to the AL, Comcast deal, no payroll. Those same people who gave up on the Astros vowing never to support them ever again will be the 1st ones back on the bandwagon as if they never left.

I for one think Crane has been great to the fans.

I'm taking a wait and see on crane. He's doing what's necessary.

I'm between 2 and 3. I don't follow baseball religiously, but the Astros are always my team, and I like baseball.

I'm a hardcore Rockets fan, but a "normal" Astros fan. I don't watch every game, but I check the score / Gamecast for most games and follow them.

And also, #2 and #3 aren't bandwagon fans. They are fans. Just not hardcore fans.

somewhere in between there, like 2.5. Not the biggest baseball fan but rather the astros be good than any other pro-team i follow.

I do find it humorous that we talking about people bandwagoning a below .500 team.

You can watch astros games? Who knew?

In all seriousness though, I don't stream them except for every once in a while. Usually just pull up game cast and follow on twitter. Would love to be able to turn the tv on and watch my team considering I live in houston. We've been to 5 games this season, most of which came before may 11.

Consider me 1.3. I have always been an Astros fan, but I only watched them religiously when they were on FSN. When they took them off the TV and with all the losing, I didn't look for ways to watch. Now I stream them when i can get a good picture.

I'm a 2, but partly because I moved to England and can only realistically watch/listen live to day games, and B. the lack of TV broadcasts (as my parents have sat tv and I have a slingbox set up there).

I was a 1 before the CSN disaster.

Well, not watch. But I listen to the radio broadcast of almost every game. And I mentioned in a previous DAT thread that Astros games aren't blocked for me in my office on MLB At Bat because my IP address registers as being from Florida for some reason (Rays and Marlins games are blocked). So I watch most of the weekday afternoon games because of that. If the Astros are playing a weekend afternoon game and I have no plans and I'm just laying around, I'll go to my office to get some work done just so I can also watch the game. So I am pretty serious about my fandom.

I have to say: I miss the TV broadcast of JD and Brownie.

Speaking of shitty, I just checked up on Lucas Harrell in AAA with the Reno Aces (AZ)....

He's 3-1 with a 5.48 ERA and 1.826 WHIP.

Last night he was touched up in 2 innings with 9 hits and 9 runs.

I'm a 1b. The kind that got hosed by the CSN deal. I still keep up with every game (game casts, occasional internet feeds, attending games a couple times a year) but it's not like the FSN days

Oh, and where ya at now Peter Gammons??? I love that we're "spitting on the integrity of the game" while having a better record than his Red Sox

Meh. The bandwagon fans don't bother me nearly as much. Better to deal with them than to suffer through three consecutive 100-loss seasons.

It's great to have people back at the ballpark in any case.

If fans are showing up now, they are still not bandwagon fans.

They are willing to go to games if the team isn't sucking. It's not like the Astros are competing for a championship.

I see bandwagon fans as those who root for one of the best teams in the league for no reason other than they are one of the best teams in the league.

The Astros are 31-37. Fans are showing up again because they were always fans, but had no interest in watching a team that loses every night.

I can agree with this statement. The Astros are still only months removed from the infamous "butt-tag" involving Jonathan Villar.

I'm excited because I believe that the Astros rebuilding process is ahead of schedule and I take this to be the general sentiment among fans.

At this point nobody is a true bandwagon fan. They are still below .500! I'm just glad fans are coming out of hiding now and going to games. There is a spark that is lit at the juice box and people want to see it now. The more fans the better to me, nothing worse than seeing an empty stadium.
