Not just because it's his guy. He backed it up with some analytics his geek squad put out.

quote:

"I'm gonna say Paul, because I just went into my analytics group the other day and I asked them that question," Ainge said Wednesday morning during his weekly interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher & Rich."

quote:

"We have an analysis called Adjusted Plus/Minus," Ainge said. "That's probably the best number you can come up with for a player's impact in the game. ... (Pierce and Wade) were very high in the prime of their career in adjusted plus/minus, meaning they were in the 10-11 range per 100 possessions, which is enormous." According to Ainge, Wade was "slightly better" from age 20 to 29 than Pierce, with an Adjusted Plus/Minus of 6.4 compared to Pierce's 5.4. But if you look at both players in their 30s... "Pierce was actually better than he was in 20s," Ainge said. "Pierce was 5.8, and Dwyane Wade was minus-0.4. "And that was my initial feeling: that Pierce was a little more consistent for longer than Dwyane."

D Wade was a great player, but I feel like he gets slightly overrated at times.

Wade was the best player on a championship team (2006) while Pierce was not. Wade >>> Pierce

Wade was a SG and Pierce was a SF, why are we comparing them?

Wade was the best SG not named Kobe in the last 20 years. Pierce was an All-star caliber SF but left no lasting impact on the NBA outside the city of Boston.

Also, personally I remember Wade carrying Marquette to the Final Four and Pierce losing to Rhode Island in the Round of 32 #JustKansasThings. Got dad-dicked by Cuttino Mobley.

Because that was the topic? Generally, I like oranges better than apples when asked. The fact that they’re different fruits doesn’t prevent my brain from working.

Wade was better but I think it’s dumb how people want to exaggerate now and say Paul Pierce sucked.

Wade's peak was historically great. Like #2 SG behind Jordan great.

Paul Pierce's most memorable moment is being carried off of the court after he shite his pants in the playoffs

No it's not. It has a severe mulicollinearity problem and errors of the metric's estimate can be huge. RAPM, RPM, BPM, PIPM are all better, and all are actually available to compare. Pierce wasn't better.

What stands out to me is that until Garnett and Allen joined him, Pierce only made the playoffs 4 times in his first 9 years, with his team's never winning 50 games, and only winning more than 40 games 3 times.

Everyone knew Wade wouldn’t age well. He was always that guy that took a beating. Wade being better in his 20s makes him better to a team.

Can you build a better squad than Danny Ainge?

If so, the Lake Show have an opening
