“I think the first thing everybody looks to is the shotmaking...but Draymond Green — he controls everything for them”

Its fricking lunacy that this team just plays better with KD out, even though he's the most talented.

KD gone pecan

Draymond spent half the season out of shape.

Durant carried that team (78 games played) through a ho hum regular season.

These guys wouldn’t have the juice in their legs today without the heavy lifting he was doing.
Look at Harden, Curry would go through the same issues of load management.

Aesthetically, yes. Because ISO can get boring, but Durant has grace on the court, so I personally enjoy it.

They aren’t a better team defensively. Portland was able to play Harkless as a big + Dame/Seth/CJ on the wings with Durant out and not get completely embarrassed.

That lineup isn’t even considered if Durant is playing.

He is their fulcrum. Schematically and emotionally.

You realize Durant is all defense level player?

He’s probably their best defender as far as versatility at this point, given his height and wingspan.

If you look at the Houston series, he was critical in causing problems for Harden off the screen because his arms can reach over the screen, contest the shot while Curry hedged. His length also provides enough coverage in passing lanes for Steph to recover back to his man.

Durant guarded the best players-Harden, Giannis, Kawhi, straight up , all season long.

To say otherwise isn’t being objective.

You can make the case that they are more pleasing to watch, but they aren’t better without him.

Cementing KD’s legacy as Draymond’s cuck.

They’re not better without him, I agree with you. However the Warriors are who they are because of the core 3: Steph, Klay, and Dray. Dray has been the emotional leader for the Warriors for years now and has proven so on multiple occasions.

lol wut? KD has gotten better defensively over the past couple of years but he in no shape or form an all nba defense level player

Draymond Green. THe guy who has won defensive player of the year and has been on an nba all defense team the last 4-5 years takes the role.

Is Durant even top 50 all time as far as how important he is for his team in his career?

I think we could put our heads together and make a list of 50 players throughout history that were more important to their team’s success than Kevin Durant.

Whatcha think?

I think if you want to completely forget about his time with the Thunder, that might work.

Put KD on Portland and the series goes to 7.

Guess he wasn't one that voted Draymond as the most overrated player in the NBA

Zero championships.
Missed plenty games with injury.
Choked a 3-1 lead in the WCF.
Legitimately stopped playing and just stood there and plenty massive games.
Wasn’t the defender he is now.

What am I missing here? Was he carrying OKC or something?

are we sure? i think it's somewhat lazy to just think that there's no possible way they could be better without KD.

why couldnt they be?
