I’m pretty new to betting, what’s the “teaser” you baws keep mentioning?
Posted on 2/22/22 at 2:56 pm to GeauxColonels
It is a parlay that allows you to add or take away points for all bets in the parlay.
You can either subtract points from all spreads or add points to all spreads.
How many points you buy determines the odds that you are given, along with the number of legs.
If you do a 5 pt teaser, you are making a parlay of spreads and then adding or subtracting five points. They can be fun to play around with. I might even copy his tonight.
They are more common in football, as you can tease to or through the key numbers such as 3 and 7.

Teasers are not profitable long term btw. Almost always better to just bet the teams straight since you’re getting reduced payout with the teaser. There are only a few instances where teasers are profitable and that involves football.

Feels like a trap game but I’m riding with arky tonight. Used the draft kings 22% profit boost.

Last time they played Nebraska only managed 63 points, and Northwestern hasn’t scored more than 70 points in their last 4 games. Bad team vs a slow team.
I agree with your analysis, but I have learned that there can be very weird differences between 1st and 2nd meetings between teams during a season and I haven't picked up on a distinct pattern.
I have seen the total points vary by up to 30...sometimes higher and sometimes lower. I've seen teams who lost the first game by 20 win the 2nd game by 5. I focus more on how the teams are playing lately than I do on how their first meeting went.
The REALLY bizarre ones are when teams play each other in back to back games. Rarely is the 2nd game like the first.

Just took Iowa u79.5 points tonight. Michigan State has held their last 24/25 opponents under 79 points.

Don't feel comfortable touching that Arky/UF game
DK sent me the 2 22% profit boosts for a parlay but I believe I'm just going to let them sit lol

Gonna use that profit boost on a live play and try to hit a good one
Posted on 2/22/22 at 3:15 pm to LSUGrad9295
True that. I’m gonna be doing a lot of live betting at the halfs
Posted on 2/22/22 at 3:18 pm to hg
Apparently the 22% profit boost on DK can be used for anything.. doesn't have to be a parlay
I picked one ML and it gave me the option to use it

Vegas lines are not as good as people think.
quote:
Since 2003, nearly half (49.9%) of NFL games have finished more than eight points off the closing line.
quote:
It doesn’t take long to realize that oddsmakers don’t know much more than the rest of us when attempting to predict NFL results. Only 21.3% of games in our sample finished within three points of the closing spread.
In fact, only 50.1% finished within eight points, meaning only half of all games played fell within one possession of the closing spread. Forty-one percent also missed by more than 10 points, showing just how far off many NFL games land.
Even if closing lines were more predictive, the NFL market, and not “Vegas”, would be responsible. Oddsmakers simply provide an opening number, and at that point the market takes over.
Sportsbooks don’t have an advantage because they’re smarter, their profits come from an ability to charge bettors -110 to make wagers. Assuming an efficient market moves lines to 50/50 probabilities, charging a tax to bet keeps sportsbooks in business — not an ability to predict the future.
No, Vegas Doesn’t Really Know the Outcome of Future Sporting Events

Yeah I used it ML on arky which brought it up to a little more than even money. Gonna throw 40 bucks at it bc I love setting money on fire. It’s fun. They give you 2 of them so I may go with something live on the other.
In other news I’m still bitter about yesterdays hockey meltdown and I hope the maple leafs lose by 50 goals tonight and all you bastards took the over.

I teased arky to +6 and nova to +8 for an even money parlay tonight. I’ll take that to have action to watch on a free bet. I like two team teasers.
