NBCs production of the NFL is also by far the best.
Sunday Night pregame show blows. Costas, Dungy, and Harrison suck the big one.

Where would we be in the world today without Collinsworth adding some super obvious "analysis" to our broadcasts? Truly revolutionary!

Gary Danielson tells you what is going to happen

Collinsworth tells you what just happened

Problem is danielson is always right.

Collinsworth is explaining something that the audience already knows or he attributes it to something innocuous that really wasn’t the big play he’s making it out to be

Danielson is much much better.

Well I was never a Romo fan until his first game in the booth so my thoughts are without much prejudice. Dude’s a smart mf when it comes to fb. I do feel like his commentary is not for the average fan. Meaning that he teaches the game and helps see more than what people normally pay attention too. And you’re not used to it. Most of the other guys have “schticks” and it’s annoying as hell. Romo’s work is probably more suited for pay tv since he’s too knowledge dropping for most.

You're making some incorrect assumptions about my football knowledge here. It has nothing to do with the depth of his analysis.

It's something that I can't really put into words. I know that sounds like a cop out, but I don't intend it to be.

I gotcha. I know he's eased up on the "predicting the play based on defensive scheme" stuff, so I was wondering what the new thing was. I haven't listened to him in a couple games.

I actually like Harrison. Bettis and Tiki were the worst of all time.

I agree. I’ve never seen someone able to breakdown a play or responsibilities so well in real time. As soon as the play is over, he picked out two or three things that caused that play to develop in that way. And explains it during the replay in a way that is easy to grasp. All live and on national tv. It’s remarkable.

Hof player.
Heart.

Hes a downhome guy. Legit.
Hes one with the heartland. Doesn't need to put on.
Insightful and polite. Great analyst.

He is, and that is what is so infuriating. I do have to say though, I really like Romo's observations.

As for play by play guys.....Al Michaels is in a class by himself
