I have actually wondered for years why we still have facemasks on the helmets with all the technology we have now. It seems like facemask penalties should be a thing of the past at this point.

Now im not a scientist but i would think they would be able to build some sort of helmet with a cooling device in it, either a couple mini fans or some sort of cooling coils
It would probably be dangerous and break after every big hit but they already have the technology built in the helmets for radio connections, seems doable?
