Could the AFC South be the best division in Football?

I know it sounds ridiculous to think that a division with the Jags, Titans, Colts, and Texans could be the best in the NFL, but overall there aren't any crappy teams in that division. The Jags are true Superbowl contenders and the Titans are coming off a surprisingly good season where they made it to the second round of the playoffs. The Texans get Watson and Watt back, and just added Tyrann Mathieu, and the Colts get Andrew Luck back who has lead them to two AFC title game appearances. The only other division that could be that good is the NFC South if the Bucs finally play up to potential.

The NFC south has this locked up fairly easily

Yeah but the Bucs are going to seriously need to improve. However, I will agree that the Saints, Falcons, and Panthers are better than three of the four teams in the AFC South.

it changes on a year by year basis.
nfc south, afc west have strong potential

No lol. And I am a Texans fan

NFC North is going to be very strong this year. Id take Packers and Vikings over Saints and Falcons. I think that the Panthers have a slight edge on the Lions. Same with the Bucs over the Bears. Although the Bears are trending up.

almost said them, but lions and bears worse than bucs and panthers/saints/falcons whoever is third this year

The Titans were improved last year because the Colts and Texans (post Watson) were dreadful. And has Luck even thrown a pass yet?

very true. Also depends a lot on which Panthers team shows up this year. Based on trends this should be a down year

Packers > Saints
Vikings > Falcons
Lions > Panthers
Bears< Bucs

I think the Colts grab Guice with one of their second round picks

Sure, they get Aaron Rodgers back, but that team is really bad outside of him.

I mean... history. Making it to the playoffs 8 straight years before Rodgers went down last year. Being in the NFC championship just two years ago...
Saints have made the playoffs once in the past 4 years. I mean yes its nice they made the Divisional round of the playoffs. But Brees isn't getting younger.
I'll admit the Saints are trending up... However I'm gonna go with the WAY more consistent team.

That division has been god awful (similar to the NFC south 2-3 years ago). They finally have a competent team in the Vikings to challenge them. What offseason pickups have they made so far? They lost their best WR and they still dont have a pulse at RB.

thanks for showing you're arse and proving you are clueless. Jordy hasn't been their #1 WR in 2 years. They'll be fine without him. They also picked up Jimmy Graham and Wilkerson on a prove it deal. Between Aaron Jones, Montgomery and Williams they will have fine production at RB. Also brought in a veteran corner in Tramon Williams to mentor the young guys.....
But yes what will they do without Jordy???? I wonder why the raiders traded for Martavis last night?

People are vastly overrating Houston. I know Watson looked great last season I. His 6 starts but so did RG3 and so did Kaepernik. Teams adjusted and both became mediocre to bad quickly.
The fact is that Houston’s defense is average, their running game is average at best, their OL is atrocious and their WB is coming off an Third ACL tear if I’m not mistaken, which is a big deal for a mobile QB.
They have prove nothing. Colts have a lot of issues as well and Titans are good but nothing special.

Every team in the AFC South seems like an 8-8 team with the Jags beginning to separate themselves, and that’s IF Watson is the real deal and Luck is healthy.
One team will step up to 10-6 (Jags)
One will contend for a Wildcard at 9-7 (Texans)
One team will finish 7-9
One team will fall apart and finish with 5 or 6 wins.

Doesn't matter because we'll be force fed the NFC East like usual.
