This is a little misleading. I bought tickets for Game 2 and they are only slightly cheaper. I haven't seen tickets sub 450 all day and this article said something like $330.

I mean, imagine how much money you would've spent if you went to games 1/2/6 at this point to watch those losses. Would probably have broken me for sure

Oh look, ESPN is fake news

quote:

In downtown Houston, a couple of blocks from Minute Maid Park, Astros fan Mike Hensley was trying to find companions to attend the game with him while pricing tickets in the secondary market.

"Game 2 tickets were $1,200 plus fees. Today's are $600 plus fees," Hensley said. "Houston's depressed and ticket prices reflect that."

Hensley surmised that Houston fans are not thrilled with the trajectory of the series, which has seen the road team win all six games. And Washington has ace Max Scherzer taking the mound. Finally, Hensley ended up procuring three tickets for $600 less than two tickets cost to attend Game 2.

"The whole city is depressed as hell," Hensley said.

Click bait headline based on one fan's anecdotal evidence.

A quick check on stubhub shows SRO tickets for $350. Even for SRO, that's not normal for a game 7. I'm sure on other secondary markets its even cheaper.

I found Stubhub $330 and it's still $421 AFTER Fees. Like I said, chepest I found was $400 After fees. TickPick.com for the win!

Meh. People only have so much to spend. You can watch on a 50 inch high def TV at home versus fighting Houston traffic and paying 60 dollars to park.

Game 7. Could be last game you ever see in World Series. Never know! But muh traffic and tiny. 50'' tv is just too enticing to stay home.

The article also referenced VividSeats and StubHub prices being lower than expected.

The majority of Astros fans have only been fans for ~4 years so this isn't surprising at all.

Sorry, I live 800 miles from Houston and can’t make it to the game tonight.

Fake news is fake.
