6especially when you know they are gonna put a 4-0 team above and 8-0 and 9-0 team in these early rankings.
if it actually happens how can they ever pretend that they arent picking playoff teams off their previous years accomplishments again?
anyway, i'll get off your lawn now. Ohio State doesn't deserve to be in the first playoff rankings. Put Cincinnati and BYU in and reward the teams that have actually earned it on the field

They are going to be in the first rankings--they rank 25 teams and there aren't 25 undefeated teams.
But no way do they deserve to be in the Top 4 after that mess against Indiana. I don't care how good Indiana is, to be up 35-7 and win 42-35 is embarassing.

true.. i'm more concerned with the top 4 because they dont deserve the inside track to the playoffs after not having played half the season

since when do we rank teams off who we think would beat the other team?
if alabama loses 2 or 3 games are they all the sudden an underdog to an undefeated BYU team? no. but you rank them based off the fact they lost the games on the field

there is a LARGE contingent of idiots who think this is how teams should be ranked. not just random people, but unfortunately people that matter.
the question is always phrased as "are we looking for the best teams or the most deserving teams?"
this should NOT even be a fricking debate. we are looking for the most DESERVING teams. how would anything else make sense?

Best teams is so subjective; most deserving teams is objective for the most part.
But best teams is as dumb as "eye-test" - and I think team A would beat Team B even though Team A has only played 4 games and 4 of those teams were dogshite.

I mean this has happened every fing season in the history of CFB. Group of 5 teams are always behind teams who have more losses than them.
it's funny to watch angry fans flip out over things that have happened annually for decades
OSU is there on potential, and I wouldn't have minded if they were 5 or 6 this week, as they have (hopefully) 4 more games. If they win out, they are in regardless of what people want to happen

If you honestly don't see the issue with this I don't know what to tell you. Ohio state honestly shouldn't have played this season n they still wouldve been put in the playoffs
