I always find it funny when people say athletes should be paid, because theyre already getting fat checks under the table.

The point is that the NCAA refusing to compensate college athletes has created this underground market that has absolutely no regulations. So yes, some athletes are getting paid fat checks, while others are playing by the rules and getting screwed for doing so. It's high time we change the culture and attitudes surrounding paying college athletes.

Well a level playing field of pay would be nice.

Here's the problem, it wouldn't level the playing field. If you say every D1 college football player gets $50k a year, you'd have a bunch of teams giving an extra 50 or 100 under the table to tilt the balance back in their favor. The only thing that would do is force a lot of schools that are already operating in the red to not be able to have a football team.

SEC football paying players?

That's crazy talk.

SEC been clean since the 1950's...and totally clean in the 80's and 90's.

Every program is beyond reproach.

The only underground market I'm remotely concerned about, and it might not even make a difference currently if it occurs because they conceal it so well, is point shaving because I want games decided on their merits not in relation to an illegal sports bribery conspiracy as far as integrity's concerned

The logical answer is Alabama. No program has been as dominant in the era of 85 scholarships, of more equitable tv revenue among P5 schools, of most schools seriously putting resources into football. This isn't the era of Big Two and Little 8.

Now Saban may not be handing out the cash, but he's good at looking the other way.

My sources tell me in the last year–it ain’t Ole Miss bad, but it’s getting there

So, if my process of elimnation is correct, its not Ole Miss. 13 options to go. Ima go out on a limb and say its not Kentucky or Vandy. 11 schools to go. Definetly not Arky, they had a worse recruiting class than us. 10 schools to go. Based off recent play and in state commits, Ill cross off Florida and LSU. 8 to go. Cowerd said they are right on the edge (I'm assuming right on the edge, means right on the edge of being great), so that crosses off Tennessee, Mizzou, and probably USCe. 5 to go. Bama is past right on the edge, so I'm gonna cross them off. 4 to go, and its one of these schools. You could make an argument for any of these based on what cowherd said, and what these programs are doing. This would be my guess in order from least likely to be cheating or get caught cheating.
Mississippi State- new coach, fresh slate, I don't think its them Cowherd is talking about.

Texas A&M- New Coach, which makes it less likely to be A&M, but they are not shy about flashing the amount of money that program has.

Auburn- Cam Newton made me believer that Aub cheats, but they got away with clearly back then, and now they don't have a player near Cams level, so I find it hard to believe Auburn would get caught for less.

UGA- This is my bet, by process of elimination.
