Clip of Serena’s post match interview on ESPN’s instagram

FWIW if it wasn’t for this post I probably wouldn’t have known anything about this. But, with that being said, I’m so goddamn tired of hearing this bullshite from women who when they’re held to the same rules as men, call it inequality and injustice to them.
I watched the clips of the match itself and she was directly calling that umpire names, I don’t know much about tennis but I’m fairly sure that you can argue the call all you want but you’re not allowed to take shots at the umpire. People want to talk about McEnroe and Conners and how they acted on the court, and I’ll agree I think a lot of times they acted like children but I don’t think they took direct shots at the umpire while arguing.
Serena acted like a petulant child, like one of those women that always want to speak with the manager and demand an apology like their shite doesn’t stink and they’re better than anybody else. frick her.
Also, check Stephen A’s comment in the comment section. He’s “appalled” at what happened.

Chair ump is lucky both players were black. She’d have called him racist in addition to calling him sexist and he’d be unemployed by Wednesday.

Did you see the article in WaPost?

There was absolutely nothing worthy of penalizing in the statement. It was pure vapor release. She said it in a tone of wrath, but it was compressed and controlled. All Ramos had to do was to continue to sit coolly above it, and Williams would have channeled herself back into the match. But he couldn’t take it. He wasn’t going to let a woman talk to him that way. A man, sure. Ramos has put up with worse from a man. At the French Open in 2017, Ramos leveled Rafael Nadal with a ticky-tacky penalty over a time delay, and Nadal told him he would see to it that Ramos never refereed one of his matches again. But he wasn’t going to take it from a woman pointing a finger at him and speaking in a tone of aggression.

bullshite. Yell and scream and berate the ref, you deserve what you get. Such a shite show...this bullshite. The trophy presentation was a complete joke...Serena acting like an entitled brat who had her rightful trophy taken from her. Serena = HRC. (Plus, she got her arse kicked anyway.)

She kept going. She could have just let it go, played out the match, and let the media have a field day with the judge. But she kept going at him well after the initial warning.
And the coach trying to excuse himself because "everyone coaches" is pathetic. It doesn't matter if everyone does it--you got caught. The fact that everyone does it does not make it right. Rules are rules.
Best part is she says something in one video about her daughter, and what she's trying to teach her daughter. So you want your daughter to keep arguing a petty thing like a warning? And to smash things when she gets frustrated?
I wish referees and umps in every sport would quit taking shite from players and just toss them whem they keep arguing. Let the league officials, public opinion, and the media hammer the refs/umps for bad calls. Just quit being a baby during the game.
Serena could have easily just kept playing, kept her cool, and made her statements after the game. The coach could have said his piece about everyone coaching from the sidelines, and how it was unfair for Serena to be singled out for this. That course probably would have had a more favorable outcome for her, even though the media will eat this up and call her a "hero", even though she was nothing more than a child throwing a temper-tantrum.

No, I don’t read propaganda because

Of shite like this.

So much reason in a few sentences there. You must be of the Y chromosome.

Yeah, but did Nadal keep going back to him over and over again to complain and say that Ramos was calling him a thief and a cheater? Did Nadal smash his racket in frustration later, costing him a point?

“Here I am fighting for women’s rights”
Funny I thought she was just playing for prize money and endorsements.
She has been getting all the support because she had a baby and she’s very tiring and she has been so great for so long... And than pisses away the Goodwill

That's the thing....there wasn't a bad call. She WAS cheating...her coach flat out confirmed it. Her tirade was completely stupid...and based upon a lie. "I've never cheated in my life!!!". I guess she forgot about her coach coaching her some 5 minutes before saying this...

You can’t hold Serena to the same standards as everyone else.

If women are equal why the Hell is there a separate women's draw in tennis tournaments?
She should be playing Badal and Federer and the guy whose name I can't spell. She's equal.

uhhhh.... (starting around 1:10)
Not arguing for Serena, but she definitely isn't a trailblazer in this regard.

Saying it’s bullshite is quite different than calling ump a thief

I can’t believe the crowd cheered her temper tantrum. And the announcer’s “you go girl” attitude. It’s like people are afraid to call her out on TV for political reasons. People are such lemmings.
And using your baby to cover your lying. That’s pretty low.
