You could just explain that it's about making money. Period.

Vegas doesn't necessarily set lines, especially opening lines, based on how they think the game plays out. They often set lines to encourage bets one way or another. 51% of line setters probably believe Clemson will win, but their lines aren't always an indicator of what they think will happen.
