The breast cancer center at Ohio State is named after her.

Spielman said that when he was a kid that in the winter they would play tackle football on a frozen pond in ice skates.

When he said he thought about Stephanie it got me. He was so dedicated to her.
That part choked me up more than anything.
Spielman and my dad are both from Massillon, so my sister and I had him do a cameo message for my dad for Father's Day. No more than 10 minutes later, Spielman had already recorded it.
They never knew each other personally (my dad is a few years older), but Chris' message was almost like an old friend checking in. He talked about Massillon, how important home and family is, and how blessed they both were to be fathers. Dad had just lost his mom too, so it was extra touching.
Anyway, that's my CSB about Chris Spielman. That guy is as genuine as you saw in the Lions video.

Spielman was headed to Michigan - 1 minute video explains what changed his mind.

My grandfather was the same way. He went to Massillon when Paul Brown was the HC, and he never understood why any kid from the area entertained the thought of going to Michigan.

Outstanding stuff OP. Thx for sharing. He was a hell of a player and just a good dude. Very deserving.

They had the Mexican standoff over which team would take the field first. Ohio St wouldn’t come out as customary and things started getting nuts.

That is awesome. I don’t give a frick about Detroit or the Lions, but I have mad respect for CS. Stud is an understatement when describing that man.

I remember the Mexican standoff...Earle Bruce refusing to exit first...that was good stuff.
Ohio State should have won, missed a makeable field goal as time ran out.
But Ohio State got even the following year in the Horseshoe with that wild fourth quarter comeback.

Chris Spielman was what a football player was all about.

Yes, the Indians have not won since 1948.

It was partially blocked.
Also LSU threw an int inside the OSU 10 with right at 2 min to play. A FG would have put them ahead and also would have forced OSU to use their remaining time outs.
