He's only 55. He doesn't seem like the type to do something like this just to jump to a bigger job. Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't just disappear and spend the next 30 years on a lake somewhere.

No wonder Jimmy Lake turned down DC jobs at other big schools. There had been rumors last year that Alabama wanted him after Pruitt left, but he opted to stay at Washington and became Co-DC.

He has a child fighting a disease or cancer, doesn't he? I remember that being a reason he passed on a lot of jobs while at Boise. But maybe I'm just crazy

Lane Kiffin to UW

That is huge.
UW is also a very good job. Based on how they owned SC the last time those jobs were open, I wouldn't be shocked if the landed the best hire of a West Coast program.

From what it seems like, he is not taking another job.
Sounds like he is semi-retiring. He's made a bunch of money, maybe he just doesn't want to do it anymore.

Interesting. People on their board have been pretty frustrated with Petersen and I think lot of them wanted to see him go. Be careful what you wish for...

Bizarre. That seems like a great job (good history but not much pressure I'd imagine) and he's used to that area.

Sounds like Lake is their permanent hire

I actually thought he was a candidate in 2009 when they hired Sarkisian

Doesn't Petersen have an ill child that he has to care for? Maybe there's been some medical complications with that child and he might be stepping down because of that.

Holy shite.
Recruiting him to play in the CFP.
Harris is a former four-star prospect from Tucker, GA.

Total flop job.
