Cubs will probably postpone for being either too hot or a sprinkle of rain.

The train is a really efficient way to get to either park. Cheap too.

Both parks are on the Red Line, so, assuming you're staying near a Brown or Red Line station, public transportation will be easy.

Portillos is a must bro.... just like badger mentioned, red line goes to both parks. Sox game just go in and leave, not much to do around the park. Wrigley is a day trip all by itself without the cubs games, the people watching and boozing is enough to have a blast. Go hit a few in the cages at sluggers and make your way up and down Addison. You’ll have fun at both games b/c the cell is a good time as well, very nice park.

Cork and Kerry's is a popular bar near the Sox park. I personally prefer either The Ballpark Pub on Pershing or Shinnick's on Union. Both have a lot of locals and are more relaxed than many of the Wrigleyville bars.
Shinnick's is pretty divey, but it's been around since the late 1800s and was known as Little City Hall since local politicians used to hang there and hash out deals. I've also heard a lot of the Black Sox players would go there back in the day.
The Ballpark Pub is newer, but they have pretty good food and weekly beer specials. One of the walls also has a mural of Disco Demolition Night.
