The Cubs (92-52) take on the Cardinals (76-68) this afternoon in St. Louis. Teams have split the first two games. Jon Lester (16-4, 2.51) goes against Carlos Martinez (14-7, 3.05) Go Cubs Go!!

Would be sweet to sweep the Cards and clinch in St. Louis. Not much confidence in Hammel given recent starts though. Only one decent one the last 4 I believe.

Yeah that would be amazing..... Screw the cards. It is asking a lot however like you mentioned Hammel has been struggling big time and the cards are deep in a wild card race they are desperate.

Hopefully they rock Garcia enough to offset the 8 or 10 Hammel is almost certain to give up

Jason Hammel will either produce or yield to Carl's Jr. for the epic comeback.

Diaz we've missed you so badly! The Reyes K and that Diaz home run could potentially be season saving. Gonna be hell getting a WC with the remaining schedule.

Yep, Garcia out of the rotation for Reyes now officially, finally.

Never should have taken Reyes back out of rotation, let him pitch, it will pay off for next year as well.

At one point I thought Garcia's option would be picked up next year. Now, he looks like a goner.

I wouldn't be so fast with either assessment. I don't think we've seen the last of Garcia this year (unless injury) or next.
